| May 2025 | SEATS | The active headrest on the driver's seat deployed spontaneously on it's own during normal operation of my vehicle. The headrest is now unable to be reset as it appears some components of the active headrest mechanism were faulty. This put my safety at risk as a driver as the active headrest can not activate in the event that it needs to activate during a possible collision. The headrest and seat causes strain and injury to my neck while driving as it is now positioned forward from the seat. This also causes strain to the rest of my spine. This issue is not covered by the original dealer that sold me my vehicle. There are no warning lamps or messages that have appeared since this problem first occurred. | Crash: No Fire: No Injuries: 1 | Unknown |
| May 2025 | ENGINE | The head gasket blows around 80,000 miles. This is a known problem consumers have with this vehicle. My estimate to have this fixed is over $6,000.00. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The Screen has delaminated and is not functional. If on while driving it goes haywire and has to be turned off. This effects hands free, gps, climate control, etc. This is a known issue with these jeeps but has not merited a recall as of yet. It needs to be recalled. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The UCONNECT screen has delaminated due to a known manufacturing defect. This causes ghost touches on the screen, posing safety risks from distraction, inability to make hands-free phone calls, and unusable navigation tools. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V838000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Three concerns: (1) the engine light is on. mechanics cannot determine why. (2) the car has trouble starting. When I park indoors, the car doesn't start. The engine turns over several times and the RPM goes all the way up, but the car will not start until the 3rd or 4th try. mechanics cannot determine why. (3) when I pump gas, the fuel pump automatically shuts off even though the gas tank is not full. So I have to hold the pump in place and use the gas gauge to determine when the tank is full. mechanics have seen this problem in other jeeps but haven't given me a reason why. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES | The ABS and Traction control lights are on. There is an open recall for this, but according to Stellantis, this Jeep is not part of the recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds, the brakes and ABS warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that occasionally the lights remained illuminated for five minutes before turning off. The contact stated that when the doorknob was touched, the warning lights illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number 24V838000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available. | Crash: No Fire: No | 70,000 |
| Apr 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Uconnect 8.4" infotainment screen is delaminating. This causes the touch screen to randomly press buttons during driving. This can make calls to contacts, or emergency numbers during driving. This can change settings at random during driving like seating heat, radio stations, other vehicles settings such as drive assistant software, turning on and off, blind spot notifications, lane assist, etc. Very distracting for a driver to continue to try and drive while focusing on what just happened or what was just changed. If your phone is connected to the device, it can call 911, or other contacts change volume setting, get stuck to where you can't change them. gain very distract and a safety concern. It is a well know issue with this model. This issue is no longer being fixed by service center or dealer without a 1500-2500$ service fee. This seem like a manufacturing defect and major safety concern while driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | I just bought this vehicle in February. Since then, about 4 times while driving when i came to a stop the car will not accelerate and the screen tells me to put car in “P” then shift into gear. One time I had to restart the car to put into gear. Then the car drives again. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Apr 2025 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | I have been experiencing slow crank issues for months now. The vehicle will have a slow crank then start. If it does not start on the first try, it will start on the second attempt. This concerns me as I've read many complaints regarding high pressure fuel pump issues on Jeep Grand Cherokees. I am concerned about my safety especially being stranded at night time. I was told I need to change the fuel pump. I called the dealership and was also told that many Jeep Grand Cherokees have been experiencing the same issue which was fixed by replacing the fuel pump. If many vehicles are experiencing the same problem, why is this not considered a recall? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING | The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving 35 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated after the Auto/Start unavailable message was displayed and became inoperable. Upon starting the vehicle, the Auto START/STOP unavailable message was displayed. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V838000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the camshaft kit needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the part was on backorder. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The manufacturer opened a case and attempted to expedite the parts. The failure mileage was approximately 71,500. VIN tool confirms parts not available. | Crash: No Fire: No Towed | 71,500 |
| Mar 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The infotainment system touchscreen (Uconnect) in my Jeep Grand Cherokee is experiencing delamination and ghost touch issues. The screen randomly activates functions such as adjusting the climate control temperature, changing radio stations, or toggling other system settings without any input. This component is still installed in the vehicle and available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? While driving, the infotainment system automatically and unpredictably changes settings due to ghost touches. This includes increasing or decreasing cabin temperature, activating seat heaters or defrosters, and switching media sources, all without driver input. This is a major distraction and forces me to divert my attention from the road to regain control of the system, increasing the risk of an accident. Additionally, sudden temperature changes or screen flashes could startle the driver or affect visibility and focus, especially at night. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, the issue has been reproduced and acknowledged by the dealership during service visits. The ghost touch issue was observed in real-time by a technician. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by the authorized Jeep dealership. However, the manufacturer has not provided a definitive fix or recall for the issue at the time of this report. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? There were no warning lamps or messages. The first symptoms appeared as minor screen glitches and unresponsive touch commands. Over time, the issue escalated to consistent ghost touches and screen delamination | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | While driving on the expressway, traffic stopped and on the dashboard it said shift to park and the jeep completely turned off. I was in the middle of the expressway so it was scary, I’m glad we were stopped since it was rush hour. The truck turned on right away. I took it to the dealer a couple of days later and they didn’t find the issue. I’m still nervous driving my truck because I’m scared it might happen again | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC | The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that after stopping the vehicle and shifting into park(P), the vehicle started rolling backwards in the driveway. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer advised the contact to use the parking brake while parking the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The contact had researched online and related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V838000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 76,000 |
| Mar 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES | Recall number 24V-838. My vehicle currently has a temporary tag/registration as it has not passed state-required safety inspection, directly related to the reason for the recall, a faulty HCU/ABS module. With this temporary tag expiring soon and no remedy for the recall, I will not be able to use my vehicle. I will not be able to get to work and home, I am not able to go grocery shopping, and the many other errands I take care of each week. In the meantime, my vehicle remains parked and unused. A vehicle that it is not used does fall apart. If there is no projection for finding a remedy, for how long is my vehicle going to be parked and not used? The lack of a remedy for this recall has become very real in my world. This is extremely frustrating because I love my Jeep, I truly do. Please advise when do you expect to have a remedy for this recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Touch screen delamination issue. The touchscreens control different aspects of the vehicle, from the Radio to HVC system. After delamination has occurred the systems go berserk and cannot be used. It's obvious looking at the screen it has delamination issues. I called Jeep Customer Care, and their policy doesn't cover 2018 models. There are multiple threads online about this issue. Dealers charge $1,500-2,000 to replace/fix which is ridiculous when it is a known default of the screen they are installing in the vehicles. There have been no other issues with the vehicle or symptoms, it started switching radio channels once and awhile late 2024 and has progressed to almost every time the car is started. Its frustrating consumers have to pay out of pocket when the manufactures know they installed defective screens. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Mar 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SEATS,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Component Failure: The control screen is going through a process of delamination. It creates "ghost touches" and behaves erratically. Safety at Risk: In one instance the backup camera came on and stayed on randomly, while I was driving forward. Another time it activated the phone and began calling down the contact list. It called, then hung up. Dialed the next person and hung up. And continued through the contact list. People began "returning my call" and it got worse. I was driving on the interstate during heavy traffic and couldn't just pull over anywhere. It was distracting, alarming, and unnerving. It also randomly turns the radio on. It will randomly change heat/ac turning it on/off. Turns the heated/cooled seats on/off. All of the controls in that panel are subject to these ghost touches. It's distracting when driving but also could be dangerous. Dealership Confirmed: The dealership has looked at it, analyzed it, and confirmed the issue. They see it frequently. Jeep customer service is kicks you to the dealer and the dealer kicks you to customer service. No resolution except to pay out of pocket for this manufacturing defect. Warnings or Symptoms: There was no warning that the delamination was going to occur. And it first happened at the end of 2024. My car is a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

There was no reported fire or police report filed. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V838000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was not contacted. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Injuries: 1 Medical attention | 98,000 |
| Mar 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | My Jeep began having issues with the stability control light coming on. And the my brake lights would come on. and some notification around ABS brakes. Took it to a dealer and they said they couldn't fix it was part of a recall. A couple days later, I received the recall notice. The recall states there is no remedy. I have stopped driving my car because the brake lights come on intermittently and when I park someone where the lights will stay on for a long period of time. Sometimes they go off, sometimes not. The stability control light and check engine light remain on - unknown if the light is just on or if there is an issue. Jeep is offering no remedy other than they tell me to contact the dealer who tells me Jeep has not come up with a remedy. I can't sell the car like this, or trade in without losing money. I have no idea what to do at this point. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
