| Oct 2025 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | On 10/10/25, I lost drive power after the OTA Uconnect update. On my drive, I abruptly had absolutely no acceleration, the gear indicator on the dash started flashing, the power mode indicator disappeared, an alert said shift into park and press the brake + start button, and the check engine light and red wrench lights came on. I was still able to steer and brake with power steering and brakes for maybe 30 seconds before those went out too. This happened in the middle on an intersection which was terrifying. After putting it into park and pressing the brake and start button it started back up and I could drive it normally for a little bit, but it happened two more times on my 1.5 mi drive home. I called AAA to tow it to the dealership (Herb Chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Millbury, 2 Latti Farm Road). The dealership informed me that Jeep instructed them not to work on my vehicle. The dealership had me contact Jeep customer service myself on 10/13/25. I have called Jeep Customer Service three times with no update or communication from the case manager and I am without a vehicle as of the time of this submission. Both the dealership, Herb Chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM FIAT of Millbury and Jeep Customer Service have not been cooperative or willing to assist me in this safety concern. I have lost a day and a half of work and still have no information or status update. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | The jeep die while I was driving on CR530. Check engine light came on and stuff flashed I quickly pulled over rto the shoulder. After ten minutes I was able to drive it into a dunkin donut shop but it turned off three times risking my life each time. I had my hazard lights on but people dont care. Called dealership and waited for the jeep to be towed | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Installed a mandatory update to car electronics on Friday night (Oct. 10, 2025). The car -- an 8-month-old Jeep Wrangler Sahara 4xe 2024 -- literally died while driving on a local highway at highway speeds. All warning lights lit up. Then the car just died... Had it towed to the local dealership where 4 other people already were being processed with the same problem. Two others walked in while I was there. Dealership provided "Jeep Care" phone number but the office was closed over the weekend. Spent a weekend without a vehicle and contacted them on Monday at ~5:30 a.m. Pacific time. Spent almost an hour on the phone. (Phone call recorded.) was told that someone will contact us within 24 hrs to assist with vehicle rental/replacement while the issue is being resolved. It is Tuesday, Oct.14, 2025, afternoon. Spent multiple hours (!) on hold with "Jeep Care." No one knows what is going on. The dealership told me they have almost 100 cars on their lot with same problem. To date, no help from Jeep. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | 10 minutes after a software update. My vehicle lost propulsion and would engage a gear unless the vehicle was shut off/on and would repeat the loss after less than a half mile. Vehicle was towed to dealer. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE | While driving, all of the lights started flashing and was told to shift into park right away and the car stopped and turned off | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The jeep lost power after only driving abojt a mile down the road. all the lights came on the dash and I had to pull over until it came to a slow stop, the brakes didn’t seem like they working. Once in park I got a dash light that said Service Charging System. I was not able to move it out of park to even neutral. After about 15 minutes I was able to get it to start and drove it home about 1 mile- it did the same thing. When it restarted the check engine light is on. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | As I was driving on the local road, the speed dropped to 0 mph and could not accelerate. The jeep shuts down in the middle of road. Put it back in the Park mode, restart, all lights including engine lights were ON. Drove another 100 ft and stop again and repeat the whole process. I was luckily within 2 miles of my home and was able to drag this back to home in 20 minutes with 5-7 stops. The other cars were honking and flashing as I keep stopping every 200 ft with no warning. Not sure if this is software issue as a lot of people are posting on facebook and other Jeep forums of having same problem between Friday 10/10/2025 and now. I towed the car back to the dealership on 10/13/25 and have no vehicle to drive for now. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | A software update was pushed to the vehicle and prompted me to update it when I turned the vehicle off. The next time I drove the vehicle, after about one mile, many warnings lights went off, and the vehicle turned off and was not driveable. The vehicle would not restart. Jeep acknowledged that the software update made the vehicle inoperable. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | On [XXX] Jeep sent out a software update to my car. I did not agree to the update but it obviously updated my vehicle. The next day I went to drive the vehicle and after 1/4 mile the car started flashing the check engine light, it said to put in park and the vehicle died including no braking or steering. It happened three more times before I could get it to a safe place to park. Since it was a Saturday and I was in western North Carolina, there were no Jeep technicians available to help me. I hit SOS on my Jeep and connected to Stellantis. They were having to send a tow truck. I finally read a blog where someone figured out how to rest the uconnect system. ( the one Jeep recommended did not work). It worked and the check engine light came off. However, this was extremely dangerous and irresponsible of Jeep. | Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | On 10/11/25 I was driving and the vehicle cut off. Most lights on the dash lit up and message in the screen by the odometer said stop vehicle and put it in park. I did, waited a few minutes and it started up, but the engine light remained on. Third time I got going and home which was a few miles. Next morning g engine light still on. Followed some advice from a jeep forum and did a soft reset and then shut it off and turned it back on and let it sit for 20-30 minutes. The engine light went off when I restarted and remained off for the balance of Sunday 10/12/25. Not sure of any damage this might have done and am I fixed? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The incident happened between October 10 and 13, 2025. Updating the Jeep Uconnect and software. It was a long weekend for me, so I decided to take my family, my wife, and two kids to the sand dunes at Pismo Beach. Luckily, I tried to avoid updating on Friday night because of a Facebook post from other Jeep Wrangler owners from 2024. A long weekend of supposed fun and activities turned into a nightmare Sunday afternoon when it updated over the air through Uconnect. Every 7 to 10 minutes of driving, the Jeep began to stall. It's okay now that it's October 13, 2025, Monday, but a long weekend of fun turned into a scary and nerve-racking situation, so I had to use another car to move on and do errands. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Did a OTA UConnect update that showed up Sat am 10/11/25 - CEL came on along with a wrench icon - Jeep experienced a total loss of power. Instrument display showed car was off and i coasted to a stop. was able to drop at dealer Saturday. tech at dealership indicated i was the 3rd one that morning and said another local dealer had 5 issues that morning. A check of the internet intimates there are anecdotally hundreds of affected Jeeps. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | As I was driving I lost all power to the vehicle as well as the steering wheel locked. I was able to pull to the side of the road but the back end of my car was hanging out into traffic. The car flashed a message reading to shift into Park which once I did I was able to turn the car off and back on again but the check engine light as well as a symbol of a tool remained up. Upon further investigation I now understood this was all due to an update on the UConnect screen system that was pushed out a day prior and many others had the same effect of their Jeeps completely turning off mid driving. This was extremely dangerous and terrifying as I had zero control over the car. Keeping lucky I am still alive! I do not feel comfortable continuing to drive this vehicle. Furthermore, the dealership nor the 1800 number for Jeep are willing or able to get my a loaner car nor assist with reimbursements for a rental car. They have no answer as to a repair for this faulty update. I am very disappointed in this entire scenario | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | A serious safety issue that occurred earlier today. While driving with my family on the highway, my 2024 Wrangler 4xe suddenly shut down completely without warning. I was fortunate to pull over safely, but it could have resulted in a serious accident. A complete shutdown with no warning is extremely dangerous and there was no recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN | Update was prompted on uconnect system. Vehicle randomly shuts off when driving, specifically in hybrid or electric mode. Restarts and shuts down again. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | other the air update on 10/10/2025 resulted in forced stalling of vehicle while in motion | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | While driving on the freeway, the vehicle shut off, many lights came on including the D blinking. It instructed me to place in P to turn on. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,SERVICE BRAKES,ENGINE | I was driving the jeep in my neighborhood when the dashboard flickered and it told me to put the vehicle in park and press the "start" button (same message it would give when you get in the car and get ready to start it, except it was already running and I was driving). Vehicle seemed to lose some power assist features like steering. I wasn't going fast, so it was hard to tell exactly what switched off, but the brakes felt stiff as well. I was able to stop the Jeep, turned it off, and then back on... which *seemed* to resolve the issue but then I had a check engine light on. I have a small diagnostic tool so I plugged it in and it give me 3 codes about control modules experiencing an "improper wake up" (whatever that means). Thankful I was not on the interstate at highway speeds or it could have been very dangerous. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Vehicle lost acceleration and power while driving on my way to work. I was able to restart the Jeep and get it off the road. I was able to pull the OBD codes from the Jeep; P1E1D. I then remembered the last time I drove the Jeep, it prompted for a uconnect update (OTA). This morning was the first time driving it since that update. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Vehicle purchased on 4/29/24. First trip to dealer on 5/13/24 at 267 miles. Hybrid Mode Not Available. Oil Refresh issues. 6/9/25 Vehicle Towed to Dealer. Check Engine Light On. Hybrid Mode not available. Replacement of Coolant Electric Heater at 2,834 miles. 6/10/25 back to dealer due to vehicle overheating while driving. Vehicle towed. October 10, 2025, vehicle towed to dealer at approximately 3,950 miles as vehicle stopped on roadway without warning. This happened repeatedly in effort to get vehicle home. Investigation confirms that this is likely due to a software update. Investigation confirms that this is specific to the 2024-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. This is extremely dangerous and we are fortunate there was no collision from another vehicle. Vehicle is set to be inspected Tuesday morning, 10/14/25. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | The Jeep turns off at random times that I have to coast to a stop, put it in park, and then try and restart it again. That’s dangerous going down a highway and the Jeep to completely lose power and shut off or going through an intersection and having the Jeep shut off. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Complete loss of horsepower and control. Limp mode wouldn’t activate. Finally able to get it home | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE | Engine died while driving | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | While driving on the highway, the car just stops. It says to put it in park and turn on the car engine light comes up. A wrench comes on had to be towed to the dealership. Chrysler is very aware of the issue gave us no warning not to drive the cars I couldn’t have been killed. I was driving on the highway on my car just shut down. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | In early October 2025 (specifically around October 10), Jeep/Stellantis pushed an over-the-air (OTA) software update via Uconnect to 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe models. This update, intended for system improvements or recalls (e.g., related to hybrid battery management or telematics), instead caused widespread failures in the vehicle's computer systems, particularly the telematics control module (TCM) and powertrain control module (PCM). After the update I experienced the following. - Sudden loss of motive power while driving (e.g., the vehicle shutting off mid-drive, refusing to accelerate, or entering limp mode). - Check Engine Light (CEL) illumination. - Inability to shift gears or recognize transmission states, rendering the vehicle undrivable. - Vehicle stalling multiple times in short distances, leading to to the need for a tow. In my instance I was on a two lane road with no shoulder and no way to drive my vehicle. I was able to move to a parking lot and wait for a tow. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
