In order to close them afterwards, you must fight with the power closing mechanism which makes it incredibly slow to close. This is dangerous if someone is threatening you and you need to get in your car and close the door. Or if a swarm of bees is coming at you. It takes about 30 seconds to close the door when this happens. Toyota claims this is to save power but this makes no sense as an excuse as the rear.
