| Nov 2022 | AIR BAGS | I was making a turn not even 2 miles and the airbag just came out when I just got the car for 2 weeks , carfax said no accident , took the car back to dealer, they said I hit the car when is not a scratch, they don’t want to fix it or be responsible, I took the car with other mechanic and he find out that car has been in an accident and the dealer is lying , after I saw the pict online the car it’s the same ven number but rims and other stuff don’t match | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2022 | STEERING | It was raining. I was driving on the highway at approximately 60-65 MPH range. I was coming out of a long gradual curve and the steering would not center. It started to have a slight fish tail feel. Normally I let off the throttle and it will level out. This time it acted like i had yanked the steering wheel to the right. I dont recall feeling pressure or resistance from the steering wheel reflecting from the tires actually being turned, but i cant confidently say there wasn't. Nonetheless, it caused me to spin into the ditch. If it would have decided to go the other direction I would have gone into the car next to me or oncoming traffic. It gradually started getting a loose feel on the highway up to that point. Prior to the accident, when in inclement weather she would have a fishtail feel coming out of turns (Sometimes while just traveling straight). I tried not to drive on the highway during inclement conditions afterwards because she still had the same symptoms. I think the best way to describe it: Somewhere in the steering components it is initially resistant to return to center. Instead it teeters back and forth like a pendulum before finally returning to center. | Crash: Yes Fire: No Towed | Unknown |
| Oct 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | After less than 4 years, the dashboard Infotainment Screen stopped working and went blank/dark. I checked all connections and fuses with no luck. After a trip to the Honda Dealer, they quoted $1200.00 to replace the Infotainment screen. I do not have the money to replace this part. This part failed in less than 4 years time. As a result, I have no access to the back up camera, tire inflation calibration, or radio controls and other functions displayed on this screen. This is causing a safety hazard while driving and undue driver distraction while driving while trying to access information usually displayed on the screen. I checked the internet regarding this issue, and there is wide spread data that this is a common issue with Honda, including several law firm class action lawsuits. I believe there should be a Safety Recall for Honda to replace this part. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2022 | STEERING | I’m having a problem with my steering. The steering has a sticky and jerky feeling when driving, causing me to have to overcorrect left or right when making slight adjustments to center. It is even worse and more difficult to manage when driving on the highway. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | First it was two hoses that had issues with the AC then the condensor wasnt holding anything in so it kept leaking out and my AC still wasnt working so Honda said the Evaporator went out and said this is what Honda is known for and happens a lot. So my whole AC all these little parts kept going out and it cost me $4000 to replace all of them and to get it fixed. The evaporator is what cost $3000 to replace | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2022 | STEERING | The contact owns a 2018 Honda Civic. The contact stated that when she started the vehicle and shifted into drive (D), the power steering failed. The contact stated numerous warning lights were illuminated. The contact turned the vehicle off and on and she was not able to recover the power steering function. The contact drove the vehicle to her residence. The vehicle was she not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 64,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 64,000 |
| Oct 2022 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | I was driving on the freeway, at roughly 65 mph as I began s switching lanes my steering wheel had locked up! Nearly causing me to crash on the freeway. Barely made it over. Steering wheel was stiff with 4 lights coming on my dash Electric power steering light Traction control light Tire sensor light Brake sensor light I’ve been seeing this is a recurring thing with this car all online ! And needs ti be taking care of ASAP !! My life was in danger. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,STRUCTURE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Actuator Assy., Fuel Lid (FUEL FILL DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR). Repeatedly locks and unlocks (making a gun shot noise loudly) every time I get in and out of the vehicle. Yes, it is available for inspection at any time. My safety or the safety of others could be at risk with the open gas cap, constant moving electrical components, and to be left stranded unable to open the gas door. The Problem was talked about with the Honda dealership. They said it was a common problem. That Honda knows about. No warning lamps or any notification. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Honda has a documented issue with the air condition condensor due to leaks in numerous Honda Civic 2016 - 2018 models. My car has a leaking condesnsor, but also a leaky compressor and evaporator - which are not covered under warranty. The repair cost for those is roughly $3,300 (Compressor $1,696 and Evaporator $1,590, if they are repaired with the condensor). My 2018 Honda Civic has 30K miles and I am afraid that the windows may fog up and I won't be able to see out the window during hazardous conditions. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | SUSPENSION,STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The car had damage because in the carfax they gave me on the left side of the car the shock absorbers fail and I always had that problem also The moldings the first time I cleaned it also fell apart at the time to revere and turn to the right when it is going back it has such an annoying noise | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2022 | POWER TRAIN | My 2018 Honda Civic had caught on fire two days ago coming onto Florida’s turnpike car was running just fine had no signs of anything going wrong with it come to come on to the turnpike and what sounded like the engine blowing up so I pulled over top the hood and the engine is on fire so I got a grab something and put it out there won’t go out so then the AC line gets hot and explodes luckily the road ranger was right behind us otherwise the whole car would’ve went up in flames I personally think with all of what I’ve read that Honda needs to recall the engine which is a 1.5 dual overhead cam turbo or fix it or the people that have had the same situation like me needs to have their money returned or car bought back something or they give you a new vehicle toes that’s ridiculous just random combustion I have also had them service engine light codes come on and then I will turn the car off turn it back on and it’s not on anymore and it does this on the random also had lack of power ever since I bought it | Crash: No Fire: Yes | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | STEERING | When driving the steering catches and is very hard to turn causing over correcting and a potential safety hazard. The steering feels like it sticks. The problem has not been inspected yet - the dealership wants to charge over $100 just to assess. There are no warning lamps on in the vehicle. There are several other reports of the same problem in other Honda Civics. This needs to be opened for potential recall. It could be very dangerous. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2022 | FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | While I leased this vehicle, I noticed an issue with the fuel door every so often. Every so often, I would press the corner of the fuel door to open but the spring/locking mechanism would not release it. I would have to keep pressing it in over and over or I would have to pry it until it popped open. This was not frequently an issue, the majority of times the fuel door would open without issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | EQUIPMENT | AC compressor and condenser are both broken or have leaked. They should cover both, not just one part. A lot of people with civic owners are complaining with the same issue. Honda should cover all AC parts. P.S: im not sure if this is related but i smell like metal from the AC vent which is very bad for the health. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | ENGINE | This car's evaporator is defective. Evaporator failure left many individuals, including myself, without air conditioning. In California, where I live, the temperature can rise above 100 degrees. Due to the leak and the high flammability of the freon, it is a safety risk. Additionally, drivers who must commute in hot weather may have dehydration due to the lack of air conditioning. Whenever i'm traveling the heat makes me feel weak and dizzy. Honda dealerships charge between $1,500 and $2,000 for repairs. I believe a recall should be issued to repair the entire A/C system in Honda vehicles from 2017 to 2019. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | AIR BAGS | I was driving when all of a sudden as I was turning left into a parking area my driver side airbag self deployed, Causing me to lose some control of the stirring wheel. No crash minor injuries to left hand, arm, and stomach. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | This car has a defective Evaporator mine and many other people have had evaporator go back and left with no Air Condition i live in California weather is over 106 degrees. Dealership are aware and charging $1,500-$2,000 to repair. I believe a recall should be made to fix 2017-2018 Honda civic evaporator. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Service center states evaporator is leaking. The leaking ac components is a known issue to Honda who have issued a extended warranty for other AC component. R1234yf refrigerant is a flammable danger and leaking in the engine bay. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | STEERING | The electric power steering is getting hard to steer properly. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The problem is Compressor of the AC is faulty/damage. This is very common and i see a lot of people online having this problem. Its weird because they only warranty the condenser. Not Compressor which is also affected by bad manufacturing. Please help bring this to light and let it fully covered all AC parts. Thank you in advance | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | There crappy electrical Systems and cause a fire! It’s breaks the Ac system. Someone could die of heat related reason from driving in 95 degree weather. DAMN YOU HONDA!!! | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | STEERING | Steering sticks when driving on the highway. When make small steering adjustments it has resistance, then suddenly becomes easy. This can cause oversteering when correcting. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | STEERING | When driving at highway speeds the steering is stiff or notchy when trying to return the steering wheel to center. It binds, then breaks free which causes the steering wheel to move further than intended and the car to swerve. We have not brought it to the dealer for this problem yet but plan to in the coming days. It seems this is a very common issue and in my opinion creates a dangerous situation and could cause an accident. The NHTSA site asks for a specific date but it has been happening regularly for quite some time. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Air conditioning is malfunctioning and not blowing cold air. It is available for inspection. This is an issue on long drives during summer months in high heat. No inspection due to personal cost No visible warnings. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2022 | STEERING | The steering will stick at 50 or more MPH requiring frequent adjustments | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
