Nov 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Uconnect 8.4 infotainment system issue. Unit has delaminated and is not functioning properly because of delaminating issue. Unit will cycle through options in infotainment system because of de-lamination without interaction. Infotainment system is hub for all important settings of vehicle. Some features will not function properly if the infotainment system isn’t working properly. This is a KNOWN widespread issue with Uconnect systems. Please act and recall these infotainment systems to be replaced by Uconnect/vehicle manufacturers.

Nov 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM I own a jeep grand Cherokee summit (2018), and the central control unit is delaminating, which in turn causes touch screen sensitivity issues. The trouble is that this unit is the central nervous system of the car. It controls hvac, camera, radio, car settings, etc… and having a car pressing its own buttons and self-changing car settings while driving is a MAJOR safety concern. Jeep has been unhelpful for myself and for vehicle owners of Jeep, Ram, etc… cars which all suffer from the same manufacturer defect. The manufacturer admittedly says the units are universally a problem, and have goodwill fixed some for people out of warranty, but refuses to help most people — thereby forcing the consumer to spend ~$1500 installing a new computer. Please help.

Oct 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Screen delaminating. It started in the top left corner of the screen and progressively is getting worse. I’ve read this is a common issue. Unable to select any controls. It Automatically selects controls itself at a rapid pace. Also with selecting controls it causes it to automatically call random contacts. It causes several distractions and is frustrating when you can’t use half of the the functions that Are connected with the screen. Such as A/C and heating functions. The air turned on full blast one day while driving and fogged up the front windshield causing me to have to pull over and try to get the screen to shut down.

Oct 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM Touch Screen De-laminiation. Entertainment system started having ghost clicks without being touched while driving at highway speeds. Started making phone calls, changing radio stations, turning HVAC on and off, depending on which screen I was on. Could not turn off screen because the phantom touches would just turn it back on again.

Oct 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER The Uconnect screen is delaminating and causing the screen to be completely useless. It calls people randomly and does not allow you to call 911 in an emergency. It also renders GPS useless. This is a known problem in this vehicle and it needs to needs to be taking care of! It is a safety hazard when the screen is going bazerk and you are driving! It is extremely distracting and you cannot use 90% of the functionality of your dash!

Oct 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The Head Unit which controls, among other things, the ‘SOS’ calling system, the GPS, the cellphone (for calling 911) has a membrane screen which delaminates and causes the unit to make all kinds of eronious calls, GPS location changes and disabling events. I feel this is a serious safety concern and that the mfr. (Delphi) should voluntarily recall these units for replacement.

Oct 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The touchscreen is turning on and off heated seats, on and off radio, phone, then requesting screen clock be reset. If car is cold this does not happen until it warms up. Safety issue when these things come on and off without notice.

Oct 2022 SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the traction control warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle would start and shift out of park without depressing the brake pedal. The brake warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the adaptive cruise control mode and the automatic Start/Stop feature were no longer operative. The contact received notification NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V426000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that service brake hydraulic system had failed. The vehicle was then taken to a second dealer, Bryden Jeep Ram Dodge Chrysler - Bryden Motors (548 Broad St, Beloit, WI 53511) who provided the same diagnostic result and advised the contact to not drive the vehicle as it was unsafe. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights would illuminate while driving the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. Oct 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Mopar radio display has delaminated across the top portion of the screen. This is creating "ghost touching" on my screen preventing me from accessing and controlling full functionality of my vehicle including, but not limited to, hands free travel, climate controls of car, including seat functions and temperature regulating for air or heat, do not disturb/notifications and time functions, car apps including the car manual/vehicle user guide, SOS functionality, back up camera usage. The screen goes haywire when turned on and resets driver controls.

Oct 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER The screen in my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee is bubbling up. It seems that the screen is delaminating. Because of the delamination, the screen thinks that I am touching it. My radio station will change, the clock settings keep coming up and disappearing, and the top portion of the screen where it has delaminated does not work at all. When I touch the screen, it does not work. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. I am concerned that the electrical will fail and cause my car to lock up. My safety is put as risk with the chance that the screen fails and causes an electrical issue. This also puts everyone else at danger if the car malfunctions and I lose control on the roadway. I called the dealership and they stated that this is a known problem in the model and year of my Jeep. There was no warning that this problem was going to occur.

Oct 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The screens on the 2018 and later Jeep Grand Cherokees are delaminating and changing settings in the vehicle automatically. This cause issues on setting controlled by the screen, and leads to distraction on the road. There are numerous reports of this incident occurring (simple google it), and should have been a part recall by the NHTSA or Jeep.

Oct 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Uconnect Navigation Touchscreen bubbled, it is available for inspection upon request. Happens multiple times a week. It has put me at risk when driving because it's distracting and takes my attention away from driving because it makes multiple changes on the screen. Screen changes settings, makes phone calls on its own, or stops navigation without any input from me. It still has not been inspected. Problem first appeared a year ago after screen bubble got bigger.

Oct 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VISIBILITY The contact owns a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the infotainment screen independently performed random features without warning. The failure affected the climate control features including the defroster. The contact called several unknown dealers and was informed that the vehicle was not under recall. The contact also contacted the manufacturer to file a complaint but was denied. The contact was also informed that the vehicle would be covered under warranty if he was the original owner. Oct 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER There is a bubble on the touch screen located on the dash. Because of this the screen is constantly getting pressed. It will change the radio station. It will change the navigation route, destination and the map completely. It will randomly call someone. Because the screen is constantly moving and getting pressed I am unable to use the radio, navigation system or any other feature that is included with the screen. I have been in route using the navigation system and it completely changed my destination. I was driving so I was unable to change it back. I had to pull over, turn the power off to the screen and just use my phone. I have multiple videos of this happening if needed.

Oct 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The main LCD screen for the car that controls, climate, radio, Bluetooth, navigation etc. has started delaminating. The delaminating has caused the screen to behave as though possessed. Car will make calls from contacts and drop calls, make SOS calls to 911, change radio stations, change climate settings, turn on seat heaters, randomly usurp the navigation system when being used to name just a few behaviors. I have observed most systems controlled from the screen to be victim of this delaminating. It is incredibly dangerous when the screen acts up while driving, distracting the driver while moving. Many of the actions require immediate attention which distract driver from the road. It started several months ago only occasionally but has recently advanced where the disruptions are constant. The dealers and manufacturer are well aware of the issue but the cost to repair is upwards of $2000 which is a barrier for many vehicle owners. The problem started after noticing a small bubbles in the screen and has progressively gotten worse.

Oct 2022 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Almost four months have passed since this recall was announced. It has to do with the high-pressure fuel pump which could fail and introduce debris into the fuel system potentially causing fuel starvation. This could result in loss of motive power which can cause a vehicle to crash without prior warning. We need to continue to drive this vehicle. We keep checking to see whether parts are available to remedy this situation, but they are not. How long do we have to live with the fear of having a crash due to this unrepaired recall?

SEAT HEATING TURNING ON ALL THE WAY UP AND STEERING WHEEL ASWELL. A/C STARTS ON ITS OWN AND KEEPS CHANGING HOT TO COLD AND MAXING IT AS WELL AS TURNING IT OFF. Oct 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM The vehicle's UConnect screen has delaminated. The result is a "ghost finger" touching the screen in random places every few seconds. This causes: The heat and fan to crank up to maximum; the heated seats to come on high; or Bluetooth to drop off; radio to switch between functions; navigation system will begin tracking in random directions. This is extremely distracting while driving and requires my attention to remedy which is a significant safety concern. Safety issue is averrable for inspection. Dealer has visually inspected the issue and verbally confirmed the delimitation is the case of the issue. no one else has inspected the issue. This issue began a year ago, around 30k miles, and has continued to get worse. Vehicle is at 37k miles now.

Oct 2022 SEAT BELTS Behind the driver's side, the seatbelts can not be used. They are too difficult and deep into the seat to reach. I have not taken it to a dealership or anything but I had a trip planned with my three grandkids and had to manipulate the car seat behind the driver side with the middle seat belt to secure seat as much as possible to keep my grandson as safe as possible. This was my first time using the seat belts on this side. Wasn't aware of the imminent danger. How do I get this fixed?

Oct 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM 8.4 infotainment display delaminated across the top third of the screen, rendering the screen unusable while the vehicle was at highway speed. Sep 2022 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM For the last month of more, the infosystem would asked "Do you want to adjust your clock setting?". If you say no takes you back to the same screen if you say yes it let you update it but then goes back to the same screen and keeps on blinking and making sounds (causing an audible driving hazard). It would go away only to come back the next time you drive. Now today it is changing stations would out me touching the screen and now when i turn on the radio the volume is set to max (almost caused an accident this morning when it cranked to max while driving). Checked it it appears my uconnect system is up to date so not sure what else i could do. Dealer will look it at for $150 bucks!!!
