Nov 2023 POWER TRAIN The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving at 55 MPH, the clutch plate exploded and pierced the transmission. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: (Power Train). The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000.

Nov 2023 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM I was going approximately 60 mph on MN Highway 100 S in the far right lane, driving with a half full tank of gas and <1% battery in “hybrid” mode, when suddenly and error message saying “service charging system” error appeared in red on the driver console and all engine acceleration stopped working. The vehicle then displayed a message to shift to P to start the engine. But it wouldn’t let me shift to P while going 50+ mph. I managed to coast to a relatively safe area on the shoulder of the highway with minimal disruption of traffic, bring the car to a full stop, and restart the engine. However if I had been in the far left lane of the highway instead of the far right, or in a section without a safe shoulder, this event could have been the start of a major accident, endangering myself and many others. The spontaneous total loss of driving power in the 4xe is an inexcusable public safety risk. I know there has been a previous recall for a different issue that also produced this effect. This issue must also be fixed.

Nov 2023 STEERING The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving approximately 65 MPH, the contact drove over a depression on the roadway and the vehicle started to vibrate. The contact stated that the vibration was transmitted to the steering wheel. The contact stated that she depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle lurched to the left and the right. The contact took her foot off the accelerator pedal and the vehicle slowed. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The contact stated that the failure had become a recurring failure at various speeds. The vehicle was not diagnosed and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 23,000.

Nov 2023 STEERING,SUSPENSION Installed a factory Jeep Fox 2" lift kit after reaching 700 miles on new 2022 Sahara. Checked and rechecked all torque specifications and took to dealer the next day for an alignment. They straightened the steering wheel which is a normal requirement when installing a lift. After about one month, I had an occurrence of the "death wobble". This is my 5th Jeep Wrangler, some with lifts, some without, so I am aware of the wobble when hitting a bump around 50-55mph and how to handle it. I rechecked all the specs on each bolt touched during lift install. I don't drive it much and baby it so it took a while before it happened again. Last week, 3 time on same highway around 55mph ON A STRAIGHT highway I experienced the wobble. I found a great diagnosis blog which led to the discovery of both tie rod ends failing and making 'clunking' noise man manually twisted by hand. I took to the dealer who had to order parts. There was no mention of stock tire balancing or steering damper replacement like in other complaints, however I have not recieved my Jeep back yet to verify the problem is fixed. Everything on the vehicle is stock other than the Mopar/Fox lift kit from the dealer. I requested another alignment and I'm curious to see the numbers compared to 1 year ago. The camber and caster is not adjustable and the tires were rotated once already and only have about 8700 miles on them. The obvious culprit I found as a consumer was the tie rod ends which have been described in many Jeep forums as being sub-par and junk. If my wife would drive this Jeep with my two young children and experienced the wobble for the first time on her own, there is no doubt she could crash into a fellow motorist. I always have to slow down and pull to the shoulder....I'm not sure how she'd react. Dangerous and noted multiple times on this site and Jeep forums. Make JEEP fix this issue as it has been around for YEARS!

Oct 2023 ENGINE,HYBRID PROPULSION SYSTEM The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle lost power steering and the power assist braking was inoperable. The contact stated that there was a warning chime and a notification to shift to park(P). The contact had the vehicle towed to the residence and recharged the battery and filled the fuel tank due to the low fuel warning light being illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a dealer and was informed that the vehicle had run out of gasoline. The contact stated that failure reoccurred, and he had the vehicle towed to a different dealer. The contact was informed by the dealer that the vehicle had run out of gasoline. The contact researched online and found that the auxiliary battery would not recharge and would drain the electrical system causing the vehicle to shut down and stall. The contact took the vehicle to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V865000 (Engine). The contact stated that he was still experiencing the failure with the hybrid system. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,500.

Oct 2023 POWER TRAIN,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL Less than a 6 months of having this brand new jeep, the Initial failure of transmission happened while driving down highway. Jeep smelled like it was on fire and I lost all acceleration. Th transmission literally fell into debris. I coasted off the highway and was able to make it into a parking lot, thankfully. Jeep was towed and repair of trans and flywheel took about 4-6 weeks. Around 6k later, trans went out again. I knew bc the transmission began slipping and the burning smell was back. As of, 10/16/23, my jeep is in again for a new transmission. It began slipping again and the brining smell was back. I’m being told the parts may take time due to the UAW strike. I’m again without a vehicle. 3 times with a brand new jeep.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the steering damper failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the failure was a known issue, and an appointment was scheduled with the dealer. The failure mileage was 10,980.

Oct 2023 POWER TRAIN The clutch in my 2022 Jeep Wrangler has been under recall since March 5, 2023 due to risk of overheating and catching fire. Jeep has pushed back their solution to this recall for 2022 models until August 2024. I am worried about the safety of my passengers, particularly if I have passengers in the backseat that would need to evacuate through the front doors by moving the driver's seat forward. Jeep's unwillingness to find a timely remedy is unacceptable, as is their unwillingness to reimburse for aftermarket solutions.

Sep 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My 2022 4xe Rubicon has been at the shop for 60 days now for slamming in to a dead stop while driving over 8 -18 mph. This happened 4 times early in the morning trying to drive to work. The dealership towed it in that morning, but failed to look at it for over 2 weeks. - they thought it was just in for regular maintenance. - during this time multiple warning lights were on (CEL and ETC, etc) . To date, they can not recreate this frightening situation or pull up any codes. I could have killed somebody, had I made it to a busy road. I had the 22V-865 recall done in Feb 2023, which CLEARLY did NOT work. Chrysler's involvement has been useless, The latest safety recall report I read (dated 7/13/23) indicates they cannot find the "root cause', they are attempting update software that will change "fail safe from shut off to limp home" but state in this report that there is still NO RESOLUTION, and is still under investigation. I purchased my 4xe August 27, 2022, FCA KNOWING they manufactured the 2.0L PHEV engine, issued a STOP -SALE NOTICE in December 2022 "in order to control and avoid the damage and emergency situations on the US roads.'" NOT A STOP DRIVE NOTICE. -Other then this Scary problem, I have FORM problems, and it throwing itself into AUTOPARK while in reverse. (going less then 3 mph) - How is this not being investigated, ... How is it that there are NO codes or replicate the problems.

Sep 2023 POWER TRAIN Transmission has been leaking transmission fluid since date of purchase. At ~13,000 miles, the dealer replaced the entire transmission under warranty. The new transmission is also leaking transmission fluid. Since transmission fluid is flammable, this is a safety concern when the dripping transmission fluid contacts the hot exhaust tubing.

Sep 2023 FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL The contact owns a 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The contact received recall notification of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V263000 (Fuel System, Diesel) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while driving at undisclosed speeds, the vehicle decelerated while the accelerator pedal was depressed. No warning light illuminated. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that parts were not available for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Aug 2023 POWER TRAIN On the evening of August 19 I was returning to Katy Texas from a trip to Austin Texas. About half way home the Axle Locker Fault indicator light came on along with a blinking rear axle fault indicator. Just east of Sealy Texas on 1-10 I heard a clunk and saw smoke pour out from underneath the back of the jeep. I also lost forward momentum and had to make my way over from the far left lane 3 lanes to the emergency lane without power. I was fortunate to be near an exit and was able to roll off onto the feeder and into grassy area off the road. With a loss of power in heavy traffic this could have caused a fatal accident. The jeep, which is slightly over a year old was towed by AAA to my house. On Monday Jeep was called who towed it to autonation at 21777 katy freeway. They analyzed the problem and it was a broken pinion gear in the differential. The rear differential had been replaced by the dealer in March due to the same warning lights from the axel position sensor. As of the submittal of this report, the jeep is at the dealer waiting for an axle replacement.

Aug 2023 ENGINE I have taken my 22 Wrangler in 3 times to the dealership to fix the engine overheating, each time it was a different component until they said we need an entire new engine. Safety of us was overheated engine without a warning on the highway going 70+ speeds. I have heard several other stories of 21 and 22 wranglers overheating, I am not sure why a recall hasn't been issued.

Aug 2023 FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM In April 2023 I was advised via a letter from Mopar of an important recall concerning the “High Pressure Fuel Pump” in my 2022 Jeep Wrangler. The correspondence warned that a failure of the fuel pump could result in a catastrophic crash without prior warning. The letter also indicated that “a remedy for this condition is not currently available”. Having not heard from the manufacturer for several months after receiving the recall notice, I contacted the recall hotline in July to request an update. The agent I spoke with indicated that parts to address the recall are not yet available, and she was unable to provide me with an estimated timeframe for the repair. The lack of a remedy, despite the implied severity of this recall, leaves me deeply concerned with the safety of my car. I rely on my vehicle for daily transportation and feel as though I’m taking a risk driving it. The car is less than one year old and has only 6378 miles on the odometer.

Aug 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The vehicle is a 2022 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited 4xe. On August 12, 2023, I was pulling into a parking space in a fairly small parking lot and the vehicle took off. The breaks were applied and the vehicle kept going. It actually hopped one of the vertical concrete barriers. After all said and done, the vehicle entered the building and destroyed this business. Thank God, no one was hurt. It could have been worse. After the vehicle crashed inside the building, it could not move anymore, and was turned off. Police report forthcoming.

Jul 2023 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE I was driving on the highway and my Jeep shook for a moment and then the D started blinking and there were 2 lights that came on. One was the battery light and the other one was the charging light. There was also an on screen message about a charging problem and to pull over safely. I was on the highway and this was very dangerous as the car was slowing down with cars behind me. I managed to pull over on the side of the highway and stopped my car safely . I turned off my car restarted it. I then got off the highway and made it home safely via the back roads. I made an appointment with the dealership but this was very unsafe and almost caused an accident. Please investigate as as I have seen many other reports of this online. Thanks.
