Jul 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE My 2022 4xe has been in the shop a total of 10 months due to engine shut down, (slamming to a stop while driving along w/ auto park engaging). All of this started after having the 22V865 recall preformed in 2023. The dealership has yet to figure out the remedy, despite popping multiple codes. This is a SERIOUS SAFETY issue that could ultimate kill someone, if Stellantis continues to turn a blind eye. The dealership released my Jeep unfixed, I am now looking for another dealership who may have an idea how to correct the problems.

Jul 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM We ordered in April 2022, a 2022 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Sahara plug-in hybrid, arriving late May 2022. In mid-June 2024, when starting the Jeep, it went into "limp" or "safe" mode. The Samsung EV battery was fully charged, indicating a 99% charge available, which translates to an approximate 24 mile range on the EV motor. The check engine light (CEL) came on as well as a "charging system failure" message came on in the center of the message center. The Jeep dealership in Temecula, CA, received the Jeep, which would only operate on the Internal Combustion Engine, and even then at 50% of available power, with the a/c system non-operable. The Internal Combustion Engine would not respond to throttle input, where it would not start (from engine off mode) more than a dozen times while en route to the Jeep dealership. It was unsafe being at the front of a long-line of cars when a light turned green and then applying the throttle, nothing happened, where we very nearly got rear-ended on multiple occasions. The DCH Temecula dealership who is servicing the Jeep advises the Samsung EV battery had an internal failure and requires replacement. The Samsung EV battery is on order or in transit/shipping, has not arrived. We have been without the Jeep approaching a month. In addition to our concern for this happening to others, we are really concerned about this being a recurring issue and problem.

Jun 2024 POWER TRAIN The following is an excerpt of the original email I sent dealer on [XXX] one day after I purchased the vehicle: I spoke to **** yesterday and made him aware the transmission on my new/used Jeep Wrangler I just bought failed. I left your facility in the Bronx at 1:40 PM yesterday and was on the side of the [XXX] at approximately 3:30 PM in Dix Hills [XXX]. **** spoke to your Manager **** and recommended that I have it towed to the closest Jeep dealer. The Jeep is now at the Huntington Jeep service center in Commack at 5080 Jericho Turnpike. After waiting for a tow for almost two hours we arrived at Huntington Jeep. The service shop was closed for the day and I am without a car and have no loaner car. I expect Riverdale to have a loaner car in my driveway tomorrow morning. Attached is also the receipt from the tow I need to be reimbursed on. See also pictures of Jeep on flatbed tow truck. The fact of the matter is that I asked about the open clutch recall and was assured that your maintenance team went through the Jeep and took care of any open items. This was not true, as per the attached open recall I just found on the Mopar recall site. It clearly says this VIN# Jeep was not addressed and the exact description in the recall is what happened to me. The Jeep indeed smelled like it was going to go on fire. The fact that you guys sent me on my way with what could have been a very dangerous situation because you neglected to disclose the correct information on the recall. I could have been killed someone near my vehicle could have been killed, because I know for a fact something shot out of the transmission housing and the car behind me had to swerve out of the way. I fortunately was able to get to the side of the parkway safely. I still have no correspondence from either dealer regarding a fix/repair a week later and no loaner car or rental. Yesterday I gave Riverdale Chrysler Jeep the opportunity to reimburse me in full and I have no response. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

May 2024 VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL I was slowly pulling into a parking spot and slowly removed my foot from the break with the jeep catapulted forward nearly hitting the car parked alongside. Had to hit the brakes so hard, tires screeched. It happened again several more times while slowing down or stopped at intersections. Have had to hit the brakes with both feet almost standing on brake. No warning or notifications. It feels almost as if accelerator has more power than brake.

May 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER A vehicle cross my path required full application of braking, locking all 4 wheels. During this event, the automatic ignition shutoff (AIS) was enabled. As a result of AIS and the lack of ABS, and, hence a 4 wheel lock-up, the AIS shutoff the engine, causing loss of power steering and power brakes. The resulting vehicle behavior required immediate and severe steering wheel correction with substantial additional force to prevent a collision with the vehicle in my path. Had I not previously had driver safety training as well as significant high performace driving experience I likley would have collided with the other vehicle. My assertion is the combination of AIS and the lack of ABS resulting in 4 wheel lock may had led to a collision resulting in sever injury to the other driver.

Apr 2024 STEERING,SUSPENSION This vehicle continues to have "Death Wobble" (violent shaking of stearing & suspension) when driving at or above 55 mph speeds. The current odometer mileage of vehicle is approximately 23,500 miles. The problem first occurred at around 9,000 miles at highway speeds. The dealer was promptly contacted and a replacement steering dampener was installed. The problem has returned at even lower speeds under any number of normal driving conditions. Problem occurs when tires cross any road boundary, road inconsistencies, or pavement changes at speed 55+ mph. The immediate sensation that stearing is failing or falling apart is only mitigated by immediate deceleration. This is extremely unsafe when attempting to maintain flow of traffic speeds on freeways or other roads. Stellantis, FCA, Jeep, etc. Has attempted to band-aid this problem by providing steering dampener replacement when harmonic vibration amplification is the main problem, based on various inerworkings of the deficient suspension & steering components on newer vehicles. This Jeep has not been modified in any way from factory settings and configurations. Work has ONLY been performed on the vehicle by certified jeep technicians.

Apr 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM My jeep lost power on the freeway while in Hybrid mode. Warning signs turned on for me to park the vehicle but I was on the freeway. The jeep would not switch to gas mode. My safety was at risk as I had to coast my jeep with no power to a safe location to park. I crossed 3 lanes of traffic. The only way to fix the problem is to put my vehicle in park and then turn off my jeep and restart it. The warning light that turned on but I can’t recall which one. It was very fast and scary. I plan to take it to the dealer ship to check for recalls.

Mar 2024 ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE My vehicle has a recall for the High pressure fuel pump. While driving the engine light and cruise control light will turn automatically and then go away consecutively. Yes, the issue has been confirmed and inspected by the manufacturer and the dealership in which I purchased my vehicle. The vehicle will stall when running or randomly turn off and smell like smoke. I have made 3 appointments in which the dealership will advise me to drop my vehicle off and once I arrive they tell me they do not have the parts. I called the manufacturer and they advised they receive the parts every 7 days. I have contacted the dealership and I will not get a response. I'm scared for my safety and others. The contact stated she would appreciate a response and assistance with a recall for the vehicle.

Mar 2024 STEERING Bought on 3/16 and going home it started wobbling at 60 after hitting a small crack in road. 3/20/24 I was traveling at 70 mph passing a car when I went over cracks on the high way when the death wobble started and would not stop until I was under 50 mph. Appointment with the Jeep Dealer on 3/27/24.

Mar 2024 STEERING Excessive play in steering due to OE tie rods ends manufactured with excessive play. I have complained on two occasions that the vehicle has excessive bump steer causing it to be difficult to handle at higher speeds on uneven surfaces. At times sharply darting towards oncoming traffic on some two lane roads. My dealer says there is nothing wrong but the service adviser admits there are many complaints of to much play in the steering by owners of this type of vehicle. As a technician myself I believe there is an issue here that is not being addressed. There are aftermarket parts available to fix the problem but there is no OE fix for warranty. That being said there is a problem that the Manufacturer needs to address. My vehicle had 13,000 miles on it and I first complained at 8,000 miles.

Mar 2024 STEERING,SUSPENSION I purchased certified July of 2023 . My 2022 Sarah 4xe Jeep has been in the dealership 4 times for the so called death rattle on the freeway at highway speeds of 70-73 mph . When hitting bump it will wobble horribly to the point I have to slam the breaks on to get it to stop . The dealer the last time put on an aftermarket fox damper which helped quite a bit but it still will do it briefly . From what I’ve researched it is only a band aid to whatever the problem is . It’s to me,very dangerous especially when you’re next to a vehicle on the highway . I don’t feel the problem is completely fixed and the dealer said they have done all they can do. I cannot give specific days off hand but will look up moving forward because it’s been at the dealership now 4 times . Ive read that many customers are having this issue . If you need a video I can send one .

Feb 2024 ENGINE When starting from a complete stop with the car in drive (usually from a stop light/sign), the dash will go completely black and come back online with initial guidance to place the car in park before starting the engine followed by "Service Transmission". Once put into park, it cannot be released into neutral to move out of danger - it's truly stuck. Based on 4XE forums, this is not a unique problem. When completely shut off and restarted, it behaves as normal. This has happened twice on the same vehicle and no error code is generated for service.
