| Jul 2023 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | While attempting accelerate on the highway at 70 MPH the car entered "Engine power reduced" mode resulting in the car to slow down. This reduced speed resulted in a few near misses on the highway. The check engine light than began to flash for about 15 seconds before all the messages went away and normal driving conditions occurred. Taking it into the dealership they pulled from the computer the issue of "multiple cylinder misfire" but could not replicate the issue. I also filed a ticket with GM letting them know of a potentially deadly issue but they sided with the dealer stating the car was operating within normal parameters since they could not duplicate the issue. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the check engine, ECM, and traction control warning lights illuminated. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate above 60 MPH, with the accelerator pedal depressed to the floorboard. The contact stated that on several occasions, the vehicle failed to turn off or start up while depressing the START/STOP button. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed with a loss of communication codes; however, the dealer was not certain of how to repair the vehicle. I pulled along the pumps and put on the brakes but they failed and I applied again failed again so I put into netural and ran into a pole. I called GM and they checked the brakes could not find any problem. I ask if they checked the computer but they didn't know. the Equinox only had 170 miles on it.
