Feb 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM " I purchased a brand new 2023 Honda HRV from your facility and I'm already having problems with it. My issue is that anytime I use the rear defroster, after it cools, it causes the Paneling and Side view mirrors to brutally crack and warp. Online I saw others have the same exact issue. It starts with metal warping, every time, and ends in the back window being blown out. I don't understand why there's not a recall for this apparent issue. I went on the internet and saw that many others had the exact same issue, but no recall was set into play. This has been an ongoing issue for Honda since 2019 in their HRV line; or at least, this is where the complaints began. I recently got a recall in the mail, stating something about a seatbelt, but not for the more important Defroster issue. What can or should I do about this?" This was an email I sent to a Honda Customer service agent at the dealership I bought it from, after also contacting Customer Service by phone. To date, there have been ZERO attempts to resolve my concerns. I have not received any phone calls or emails back to even let me know they cared. Currently, I refuse to use my rear defroster on this model EVER, for fear that my rear window will explode while driving.

Feb 2024 VISIBILITY/WIPER The rear window of my HRV shattered for no reason in a snow storm. I was unable to get it to my dealer to fix the issue as I am a [XXX] and it was the middle of a snow storm in Utah. I had to get it fixed at the closest glass dealer to my location. The component was reviewed by the glass company as they were fixing it. This is a safety issue is when the glass shattered it rained down in the back seat where I have my nieces and nephews ride. It also put me at risk as it startled me and I was driving in the snow. In doing research, I found that there have been numerous incidents of these windows shattering. I attempted to get a goodwill repair for Honda as it is a "Known" problem, but they refused. I am submitting this information to help others and possible get a recall going on this defective material. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Jan 2024 UNKNOWN OR OTHER The rear window shattered while the vehicle was stopped at a red light. We contacted our local Honda dealer and were told they know nothing of the problem. But we have found dozens of articles describing our same incident and that Honda has acknowledged an issue. We had no choice but to use our insurance to get the window replaced as we are in a very cold and wet climate in the Pacific Northwest. I also took the vehicle in for the safety recall, but according to the NHTSA, it's still outstanding. I took it in on 1/16/24.

Jan 2024 ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VISIBILITY/WIPER I used remote start to start my 2023 HR-V SPORT, and walked outside about 5 minutes later to find the rear windshield completely shattered. I thought something may have hit the glass, but I was backed into my driveway close to the garage door, and it was mid-morning so I didn't suspect a break-in attempt, as there was absolutely nothing in the car to steal. After doing some research online, I found all the reports of the Rear Defrost malfunction being reported. I have been setting the A/C to preheat the vehicle in the mornings due to the recent cold snap, so I double checked my settings, and they were indeed set the same, with the Rear Defrost set ON. I called my local Honda Service Dept. today and the person on the phone acted surprised, and claimed to have never heard of this issue. I am still waiting on a call back from the actual Service Department to take the car in. We are currently now without transportation, and no answers from Honda.

Jan 2024 STEERING We bought this 2023 HR-V on December 31, 2023 and it currently has 14,343 on the odometer. About 5,000 miles ago (roughly) we started noticing that the steering feels "sticky" even with the lane assist feature disabled. It is especially noticeable around corners, but it happens at slower speeds as well as faster speeds. It doesn't prevent us from turning the steering wheel and keeping the car centered in the lane, but it does take more effort than normal.
