| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | There is a "consider taking a break" warning that pops up pretty often on this car. When I am doing normal driving. It is a MAJOR distraction and creates an unsafe situation. There is no way to turn off this feature | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The car breaks itself so abruptly when there is no real danger. This has almost caused for me to be rear ended on multiple occasions. Especially scary on the freeway. The forward collision warning is set to "late," and it still causes a huge jolt. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I have taken the vehicle to dealer every month since purchase . The light for the forward collision inside the RPM dial continues to come on as I driving . I have made several attempts with the dealer to fix this matter. The vehicle is new . It now has 13,696 miles on it now since purchase. I have a case with HYUNDAI of America . I left my vehicle with the dealer for a month of this time and I got my vehicle back , it had grey seats instead of black. My tires were different as there are rotated burn marks on the exterior of them . Something is wrong here . I am inheriting a problem that is not safe while driving . My understanding from reading about the forward collision light is deactivating while driving . How is this safe for the driver and occupants or others on the road . | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN | I bought a Hyundai Tucson Hybrid 2025 on Aug. 7, 2025. My car has 1541 miles on Oct. 8. I tried to drive my car out of the garage, and the engine would start, but it wouldn't move forward or backward. There were three warnings on the dashboard: Powertrain, hybrid, and something. Hyundai headquarters called and said there was a problem with my car. They will send a tow truck. It has been one week since my car was taken to the dealer. I haven't heard back. When I called today, they said there was a problem with the TCM and they ordered a module. So, I guess I just have to wait and see. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The safety feature on this SUV. “Take a break” the fact that it blares at you and makes so much noise all the time is so dumb. It can flash all it wants but when I’m traveling a long distance and I have kids or other people sleeping the car and get woke up because it’s beeping so loud it’s annoying. I think the noise should be able to be disabled. I can’t be the only one that this drives crazy. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | SERVICE BRAKES,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was traveling on [XXX] in Nashville. There was a motorcycle speed trap on the right shoulder so I moved over to the left. The car in front of me also moved to the left and my car slammed on the brakes and came to a complete stop on the highway. I was badly rear-ended causing $12,500 in damage. This has happened 2 other times to me since then. This seems to be a consistent problem with the 2025 Hyundai Tucson. I'm fixing my car and selling it as I don't feel safe. | Oct 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,LANE DEPARTURE | The vehicle will continuously pop up the notification “Consider Taking A Break” while driving at highway speeds when using the adaptive cruise control. When this occurs it emits 6-7 audible beeps that distract the driver from the wrong and to look towards the instrument cluster. It was also turn down the infotainment system as well. This feature is unable to be turned off in the settings z it has continuously distracted my driving and made it more unsafe while driving at highway speeds. It makes the adaptive cruise control not worth using which is more harmful for a driver to continually have to accelerate and decelerate. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | Vehiclr has been doing this since 4 montbs after purchase, then a recall came out we were told it would fix the problem. 3 times now since the recall the odometer screen and media screen will go blank while your driving. The car wont accelerate, turn signals, and steering colum becomes hard to operate properly. We have had to near accidents 1 being less than 2 hours in August of 2025 after Hyundai just claimed to repair the issue. We were driving on [XXX], screen went out, we lost full control of steering, had to wrestle with the wheel to keep car in its lane, we were almost hit by semi truck and ran off road. We immediately took car back to dealership, and shop assistant mgr was able to see for himself, it wasnt working after theu just made repair. They kept car a few days we were very reluctant to take vehicle back, out of these safety concerns, and my family having to ride in this vehicle. We took ot back as the dealership assured us the matter had been taken care. Then last week on [XXX], in the evening was driving down street and the screens started to flicker and the car wouldnt stay centeryed in the lane, then it happened both went blank, the car slowed down and the fight began on operating vehicle. In regards to no turn signal would go off, it wouldnt accelerate, the steering wouldnt operate correctly, if O wanted to center the car in the lane, it would pull the car another direction. A 7 minute ride home took over 20 minutes. We took car back to World Hyundai Matteson, the next morning and called Hyundai Corporate office to inform them we didnt want the vehicle back. | Oct 2025 | SEAT BELTS | The driver's side rear passenger seat belt doesn't latch. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | There is a camera mounted on the steering column that is "supposed" to be a safety feature to tell you when you are not paying attention to the road. It gives you a picture of a coffee cup and says "consider taking a break" along with repetitive beeping. Unfortunately, if you wear sunglasses (mine are prescription), a hat, are too short or too tall it can go off repeatedly. It is extremely distracting and causes you to take your eyes off the road to see what's going on. On a 350 mile trip that I make often, it has gone off for a solid hour every 4 minutes! It averages about 30-40 times in that 5 1/2 hour trip. It also mutes anything that is playing through the infotainment system including directions. I have asked the dealer who says there is nothing they can do and it is a known problem. Hyundai says it is functioning as designed. I have also filed a report with Hyundai. A safety feature that causes distractions is not a safety feature! Also, the emergency braking has almost caused me to get rear ended on a number of occasions. I have been in the process of slowing down or braking when the emergency system kicks in and almost throws me through the windshield. Cars following at a reasonable distance have to slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. Isn't this feature supposed to help you avoid accidents, not cause them | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | In my 2024 Tuscon, Hyundai has connected their cruise control to their driver assistance function. This system includes a camera on the steering column that watches the drivers eyes. If for any reason, they cannot see your eyes they will shutdown cruise control without warning. This can be caused by simply wearing sun glasses. So this forces the customer to choose between two safety features. Cruise control which we all know has signifcant safety implications reducing stress fatique, etc. and bypass all the driver assistance systems. There are people who are putting black tape over the camera and disabling DAS so they can use their cruise control due to the inability to wear sun glasses when heading west (obviously even within a curve, so it shuts down unexectedly in the curve). Surely that is not an acceptable solution. Hyundai should add an option to ignore the eye checks while using the cruise control but so far they have totally ignored it. You can google for "Hyundai cruise control sunglasses" and will see a lot of complaints and people disabling safety features. Obviously there is no specific event, this is happening all the time in the US. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The following problems began 5 months ago, 8 months after purchase with about 4770 mileage and current mileage of about 7623: Multiple occurrences of Check Engine light coming on, sometimes setting DTC code, but often not setting code. Multiple occurrences of Crash Warning light coming on; It may have set a code or codes, but usually not. I think neither dealer was able to reproduce these 2 intermittent problems. Engine light, so far, has not occurred since it was traced to faulty connectors. As far as I know, the Crash Warning light has not come on since the dealer reduced front camera sensitivity. Also, for the past 5 months there has been intermittent, engine miss, skipping or cut-out. As of this writing it still occurs while driving and will lurch or buck if it happens under acceleration This is not frequent, but it happens erratically and it may happen only once or a few times in one day or several days between. This has not set a DTC code as far as I know; I think the following may be related to the skipping. Once, while coming to a stop, the engine stopped or almost stopped; it bucked when it happened, but continued to run. All warning lights came on for a second or two, then went off, except 3 warning lights and the warning triangle. Although the engine was running, the tachometer and speedometer read Zero. The engine bucked as I slowly drove into a parking lot, then I restarted the engine; it seemed ok, then. About 3 weeks later, while driving at slow speed, just as I took my foot off the brake and was about to accelerate, the engine quit. When the engine quit, the audible Crash Alarm went off with a message saying the engine was not running, press the start button. I started the engine, it did not have normal power. I stopped, restarted the engine and it seemed ok. I have been to the dealer several times because of these problems; dealer is still troubleshooting the last incident. This could cause an accident, especially if it occurs at a higher speed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | BACK OVER PREVENTION,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I was driving on a highway in the largest city in the world and while vehicle merging into my vehicle, Hyundai Tucson automatically and abruptly engaged emergency forward collision. There was absolutely not necessary. All loose items in vehicle went flying inside of my car. My body went forward as well as my passengers. Luckily I was not rear ended in an accident. This is the third incident of the vehicle automatically engaging safety features which actually does the opposite and is a hazard, since I bought the car in Feb 2025. There is no way to permanently disable these features. A driver not being in control of their car is a huge liability on the road. This vehicle must be recalled to disable this feature. Perhaps in a rural area somewhere in the world with no other cars around , this wouldn’t be an issue. Large cities with vehicular and pedestrian traffic it is a danger. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE | First incident was July 2025 . Car had 1300 miles. Would not accelerate over 25 miles an hour. Made an appointment with Route 60 Hyundai in Vero Bch, Fl. They could not find anything wrong. (invoice # [XXX]) Second time [XXX]. 3009 miles on the speedometer. The car would not accelerate over 4mph. After several minutes acceleration was possible. We will once again return to Route 60 Hyundai. Car could not get thru a busy intersection. Very dangerous. | Oct 2025 | STEERING,SUSPENSION,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, the vehicle was swaying from side to side. The connection was not secure to the steering wheel. The contact had to correct the steering wheel. Additionally, there was static on the radio, and the screen was inoperable. The screen went from white to black. When the heat was in the off position, hot air was entering through the vents. There were fumes inside the vehicle. The Forward Collision Avoidance assist, master warning, intelligent driving assist, and forward safety warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure but was able to reset the radio. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and determined that the vehicle failed to meet the qualification for the Lemon Law. The failure mileage was approximately 500. | Crash: No Fire: No | 500 |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Control screen keeps going randomly blank, for different periods of time, putting the driver at risk, because the vehicle information, including speed, lights, wipers, basically everything is displayed in this screen. Sometimes the sentence NO SIGNAL shows up. I had experienced several scary situations, specially in freeways when raining, you have zero driving information. The car has been to the dealership service 4 times, with different tentatives of repair, none of which worked. The last time my car was at the dealership service for 25 days and after 2 days the problem was back, even worse. Sometimes all the lights of the control screen light up, with no reason and keep on even after the car is turned off. This is our only car and we need it, but the car is absolutely unsafe and unreliable. I refuse to leave the car for a 5th time, Hyundai has no idea what the issue is and obviously cannot fix it. The lane assist is also malfunctioning, sometimes the warning system doesn’t work properly. Twice the car emergency brakes stopped the car abruptly without a reason to do so (no risk of collision, no car or object in front ). One of those times the car behind me almost hit me, because the stop was abrupt and for no reason. I have many videos and pictures, but apparently I cannot upload the videos in this form. I have the paperwork, but Hyundai refused to refund for the vehicle. I highly recommend an investigation, Hyundai is getting away with a very serious problem and someone will get hurt as a result of these issues. Thank you for the attention. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Under two occasions I was driving on the highway at a safe distance from the car in front of me and my car emergency braking system triggered and went off and caused my car to stop in the middle of the highway. This caused a collision behind me. There was no reason on either occasion for the braking to bring the car to a hault. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The contact purchased a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact discovered a mileage discrepancy after purchasing the vehicle. The vehicle was a dealer sale. At the time of purchase, the vehicle mileage was 77. It was later discovered that the mileage on the Title was 143. The contact also stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the hazard lights and Forward Collision Avoidance warning lights unexpectedly illuminated without any vehicles nearby. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact was informed by the dealer that the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 4,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 4,000 |
| Sep 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | 9/26/25. Friday late afternoon at 5PM. Driving on the Southern State Parkway in stop and go traffic…. the traffic opens up and we start driving to about 10 MPH, with no emergency present and the car did an emergency stop on it’s own. Frightening experience…it’s amazing we didn’t get rear-ended. This is the third time this happened, but I only documented this time. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | At least 5 times now when no car was breaking extremely close to me or when I gently touched the breaks the automatic emergency breaking kicked in and slammed the car to a stop. Twice the car behind me had to swerve out of the way and hit another car causing 2 accidents without my car being involved. Once it caused me to hit my head on the steering wheel. This function is more destructive and dangerous than helpful. At no time should my car go from 70 to 0 in a second for no reason, but with this it does. Got the car in the March 2025 so 5 times in 7 months. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | ENGINE | On Sept.12,2025, I was driving with two family members. i was stopped at a light with the auto on/off engaged. Fortunately, i had my foot on the brake as the engine revved very significantly. I threw the car into neutral and the engine returned to normal. Had I not done so, we would have plowed into two cars in front of us at the light. The car was taken to the dealership; but, they could not duplicate a recurrence in road testing. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | EXTERIOR LIGHTING,VISIBILITY/WIPER | The rear brake lights and turn signals on my 2025 Hyundai Tucson are not visible to following drivers due to their low placement and design. Multiple drivers have nearly rear-ended us because they could not see when I was braking or signaling. The lights function electrically, but their position makes them obstructed and not noticeable from normal following distances. This is a serious safety hazard and creates a high risk of rear-end collisions. The dealer confirmed the lights work as designed but cannot change their position. This is a design defect that cannot be repaired and should be investigated for recall. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | Forward collision warning automatic braking caused car behind me to rear-end me. This is the first accident but third time the automatic braking unnecessarily caused an issue. The car in front of me was far enough away that it did not require an auto-brake. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2025 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The contact stated while driving 24 MPH, the vehicle shuddered abnormally. After releasing the accelerator pedal and slowing down, the shuddering ceased. There were no warning lights illuminated. Additionally, the Auto STOP/START feature failed to activate as designed. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the electric oil pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The dealer then diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 15,000. | Crash: No Fire: No | 15,000 |
| Sep 2025 | AIR BAGS | Air bag safety light is on | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
