| Jul 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Screen started to delaminate two years ago. Slowly started glitching. It now glitches constantly while driving. It randomly turns on and off, calls people, turns seat heaters on and off, changes channel, turns back up camera on and off etc. This is a major safety concern while driving. When I researched this online it appears to be a very widespread issue for all 2018 Jeeps. I have also had to replace my headlights 3 times in the last 1 1/2 years. I feel there is a correlation. I don't understand why Jeep is not recalling this issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Auxiliary battery which manages auto start/stop fails. First time battery was tested and replaced under warranty. Failed again two years later - out of warranty. Unsure about risk but depending on who you ask, the failed auxiliary battery can be a parasite to the main battery, leading to potential breakdown. Also misleading fuel consumption numbers due to auto start/stop not functioning | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | UConnect Screen delamination - cannot adjust vehicle controls since most are managed through UConnect screen. Dangerous situation. Appears Jeep FCA has an issue with 2018 UConnect screen delamination due to bad adhesive making the screen non functional - Jeep is not responsive | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | Starting around February 23 after about 10 minutes into driving. The hot temperature lamp would show up . I pull over an it was always empty of coolant I had done that few times within one week. I also didn’t use air conditioning for a few weeks left . An it was ok for few weeks. Then I noticed smoke coming out back pipes . Send to first reipair shop. They found Coolant in a combustion chamber They told me I should send to Jeep shop . | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Infotainment Center randomly changes modes, unable to use Bluetooth as it will call 911 or contacts. This presents a safety issue due to inability to have hands free capabilities. Navigation system is inoperable as changes screens, loses destination. Climate control turns items off and on without me selecting any feature. Screens flip around without my interaction. Started when had around 40k miles on vehicle. Overall malfunction of entire system. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | The radio acts like someone is constantly touching it; I can't access any controls on the touchscreen, which can be dangerous while you are trying to drive. I know I'm not the only person who has this problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Communication screen has delaminated causing ghost touching. While driving the radio randomly changes, the phone will dial, the hvac controls will start switching, etc. without anyone touching the screen. This is distracting and dangerous. At night the screen will change dimness and brightness. I have no control over it and there’s nothing to be done to stop it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | STRUCTURE | I have two Jeep Grand Cherokees ([XXX] and [XXX]) with the leather wrapped dash. Like many others, the leather is peeling up and wrinkling, raising into the field of view of the windshield and I’m also concerned with how this might affect air bag deployment on the passenger side of the vehicle. I know of at least 15 others online experiencing this issue and they get the same run around from Jeep. The dealer looks at it with a $130 diagnostic fee, then tell you it’s not covered. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The navigation display in my jeep is starting to delaminate which is cause ghost touches and the screen will change on its own, mess with settings and it can cause serious safety issues and is distracting to the driver. This should be a recall and not the driver’s responsibility to fix. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The lcd screen is basically coming apart and there should be a recall as this is a known issue yet it’s going to cost me hundreds of dollars to fix since the car is not under warranty. It’s been messed up since the month after I bought it from carmax in Wichita, ks and they refused to cover it since there was no recall. The buttons go crazy and click random stuff and it looks as if there is liquid in between the screen. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING | 2 Issue Related to Electrical/Lights: 1) The touch screen has delaminated. This started a while ago (appx. 2020) and was only an aesthetic issue until very recently. Appx. 3 months ago (3/2023) the screen started to have a "ghost button" where different things were being pressed. For example, music changed, seat warmers turned on/off, etc. The most dangerous of these issues was a dark screen turning bright, which can be blinding at night. Definitely a safety issue since some of the essential controls of the car are done here. 2) The "auto" high beams have stopped working (appx. 5/2023). They turn on when held with the "flashing" method, but when put into auto (where they stay on) they do not work. Certainly a safety concern. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | ENGINE | I attempted SEVERAL times to have the Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep 'Z46 - High-Pressure Fuel Pump Failure' recall repair performed on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit Platinum 4X4 EcoDiesel. The 'Z46' recall was issued in JUN 2022. Yet over ONE YEAR LATER each time I inquire about performing this recall repair the Jeep dealer advises that "there are no parts available to perform the recall repair". I submitted a complaint to Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep Customer Assistance and asked that the problem be escalated. I received no response or further follow up to that complaint submission. I need to sell the vehicle in the next 30 days but cannot sell the vehicle due to the open Z46 recall. I am suffering economic injury as a result of the Jeep dealer's inability to perform the Stellantis/Chrysler/Jeep 'Z46' recall repair. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jun 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | My console is controlling itself and its causes risks while driving. The heated seats go by themselves and won’t go off. Causing the inability to drive it in the summer since it’s so hot. It self changes temperature, terrain, media, navigation settings on its own and i can’t stop it. This is a serious issue and a defect in wiring . There should be a recall issued to fix this issue. I’ve read several complaints for this exact issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| May 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Display screen has been bubbling since I purchased in 2021. Now recently while driving display presses buttons on screen while driving without any physical contact. Calls random people from phone without touching it. Impacting ability to use navigation safely, constantly having to switch screens back. Also, at times blue screen appears, and sometimes rear camera view stays on screen while driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | SEATS | The active head restraint deployed on its own as I was preparing to start the vehicle (2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee). Fortunately, I was not driving the vehicle when the headrest bursted and hit me in the back of my head. The NHTSA site identifies this problem associated with 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokees, but my VIN is not included with this defect for some reason. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | ENGINE | Oil filter adapter leaking | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| May 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | While driving the vehicle it shut off and would not start unless the vehicle was jumped. This happened twice in the middle of the highway, extremely dangerous my children were in the vehicle and other vehicles had to swerve to avoid contact with my vehicle. I took the vehicle back to the dealer that i purchased the vehicle from and they could not figure out the issue. My vehicle is currently with another independent dealer, i changed both batteries, i changed the alternator, checked all of the fuses and checked the relay switches and the vehicle still will not start without a jump and it will only run for a day without needing a jump. No warnings, it just happened. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
