Dec 2023 UNKNOWN OR OTHER Rear window exploded while driving 30mph to work today 12/9/23. No car was in front or behind me. Nothing hit the window it just exploded.
Incident: Dec 2023
Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Dec 2023 STEERING Highway or city streets the car drifts and the steering sticks when you correct the drift. This is a safety hazard, if it jerks too much when correcting it could drift into the opposite lane causing a crash. I bought my HR-V in March of 2023 and it was fine until my Low Tire Pressure Sensor triggered. We couldn't find an issue with the tires so we recalibrated the sensor and after that the steering started to stick. I brought it to the dealer and they couldn't find any issues at that time. Over the last couple of weeks it's gotten worse, I called my dealer again and they said they've had to replace two steering racks on the HRV due to this problem. I turned off the lane departure feature to see if that helped but the problem persists.
Incident: Nov 2023
Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Dec 2023 STEERING At highway speeds the car drifts and the steering sticks severely when you correct the drift. The problem happens both to the right and left. I bought my HR-V in June of 2022 and it was fine until December 2022 (about 1800 miles). It was really bad for about 3 months then got a little better. I’ve noticed it getting worse again as winter approaches. I turned off the lane departure feature to see if that helped but the problem persists. The Honda dealer has no idea what is causing the problem.

The contact stated that the shattering continued across the rear windshield. The contact stated that only the outer edges of the windshield remained attached to the frame, the rest of the rear windshield was in pieces inside the rear cargo compartment. Crash: No Fire: No Unknown
Dec 2023 VISIBILITY/WIPER I own a HRV Sport 2023 and Friday December 1, 2023 I found my rear windshield shattered all of the sudden. I know by reading online that is a defect from manufacturing. The dealer where I bought my car does not want any responsability and they told me I have to pay it. This is a manufacturing defect. Is not fair I'm still paying for this car and have to be liable for something the manufacturing has done wrong.
Incident: Dec 2023

Dec 2023 STEERING My steering has become sticky especially during highway driving when trying to stay in my lane. The stickiness makes me have to use extra force which then ends up making a jerky feel and over correcting. The drive is not smooth and feels unsafe for me as well as other vehicles on the road due to the potential of ending up in someone else’s lane. I will be taking my vehicle to the Honda dealer today. No warning lamps or messages have been shown.

My windshield from the back of the hatchback closure exploded over my head, and then I had to pay a 500 deductible because Honda said that there was no recall for an overheating back windshield so I had to pay out-of-pocket for it, and they literally had a hole and it exploded over my head and they said they couldn’t do a recall.

Dec 2023 STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,LANE DEPARTURE The steering is sticking and jerky without the lane assist, especially when it's cold out. Instead of normal smooth steering correction while driving, it builds up pressure while trying to correct, then it feels like a slip, then a jerk. It makes me feel very unsafe and I always now have to have a firm grip on the wheel
Incident: Nov 2023

Dec 2023 STEERING The steering wheel effectively sticks at any speed, especially at the home position. It takes a meaningful amount of force to move the steering wheel once stuck, creating a safety hazard. I noticed this while driving the car, who we bought for our son, creating even more of an issue for him being a new driver. It’s my understanding this is a known issue with the Civic and other models. It does need to be addressed before someone gets hurt.

Nov 2023 STRUCTURE,UNKNOWN OR OTHER Upon entering my parked vehicle today 11/30/23, I got in and closed the driver side door of my 2023 Honda Hrv. Immediately I heard a crash and looked behind me to see that my rear windshield had shattered and the middle part was caved in with glad all in the trunk. I got out, inspected the area and there was nothing to indicate why the windshield spontaneously combusted like this. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and no one had seen or heard of this before. Upon searching online, I found several websites where other people have reported the same thing happening, either when the car is parked or while driving. The dealership is currently trying to figure out how to handle this.

Nov 2023 STEERING 2023 Honda hrv I have a sticking steering wheel. It seems to happen in colder wet weather. The steering wheel seems to kind of get stuck, and you have to really pull to get it to free up, but then on the next turn of the wheel, it sticks again. So it’s a constant battle. For me it happens at higher speeds, 55mph or higher. This has been happening about a month. I made an appt with my Honda dealer, they couldn’t find anything wrong, no codes. They gave me no invoice.
