This is a safety hazard, if it jerks too much when correcting it could drift into the opposite lane causing a crash. I bought my HR-V in March of 2023 and it was fine until my Low Tire Pressure Sensor triggered. We couldn't find an issue with the tires so we recalibrated the sensor and after that the steering started to stick. I brought it to the dealer and they couldn't find any issues at that time. Over the last couple of weeks it's gotten worse, I called my dealer again and they said they've had to replace two steering racks on the HRV due to this problem. I bought my HR-V in June of 2022 and it was fine until December 2022 (about 1800 miles). It was really bad for about 3 months then got a little better. I’ve noticed it getting worse again as winter approaches. I turned off the lane departure feature to see if that helped but the problem persists. The contact looked behind and saw that the rear windshield was fracturing into pieces starting on the driver's side at the edge where the windshield was attached to the frame at a mid-level height. The contact stated that the shattering continued across the rear windshield. The contact stated that only the outer edges of the windshield remained attached to the frame, the rest of the rear windshield was in pieces inside the rear cargo compartment. The contact called the insurance provider and had the rear windshield replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and no one had seen or heard of this before. The steering wheel seems to kind of get stuck, and you have to really pull to get it to free up, but then on the next turn of the wheel, it sticks again. So it’s a constant battle.
