| Oct 2024 | STRUCTURE | The rear window exploded while parked at a school. I put on the rear defrost while driving to the school and when I parked and shut off the car, that's when we heard the explosion. There was no external impact to the car. I've seen several reports of other 2023 HRV owners with the same problem. The car has not been inspected, but I called my Honda Service Center and they referred me to Car Tech who repairs the windshields. The representative was unable to tell me if Honda would cover the repair. There were no warning lamps, messages or other alert to a potential problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

My sunroof exploded. I did not hit a rock nothing hit me it just imploded. I have already called Honda who said they will do nothing about it. It's a 2023 Honda HRV with 17,000 miles on it. This is not wear and tear. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6) | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Oct 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | At around 7am Sunday morning, I turned on the ignition and clicked on the defogger because there was condensation on the front and back windshields. I drove away, traveling through quiet residential neighborhoods. Not many people were around. About five minutes later, I heard a crashing sound. I looked up and saw the rear window had shattered. I drove to where I was going--it was a minute away. I got out the car. The entire window was in tiny pieces, with shards of glass falling off. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | The Back window blew up and dispersed glass at least 5 ft into my driveway while I was standing behind it. It was very scary and frightening. Fortunately, I did not get hit with any debris. The windows continued to make a crackling sound for several minutes. I had just got a safety recall a few days before and was planning on taking it in but the notification should have been much sooner and marked urgent, for example: Do not drive your car, it may blow up. When I researched, I can see that the issue was known as early as Jan 2024 and I was just notified in September 2024. Also, Honda is not offering loners for the fix even though we have to wait for the window to come in and have no transportation. They should be very accommodating considering the situation - people could really get hurt. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | STEERING | Sticky steering wheel movement on high speeds and slight turns on road. When the steering wheel is resting in center. And time comes to turn it slightly. The steering wheel feels very resistive. Once overcome the resistance, the steering wheel is soft to turn again. This made my car go out of lane once and once corrected made it over correct. Dangerous situation. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | I was driving on the highway and heard a thump at the back of my car. My rear window had spiderwebbed, with no warning and nothing hitting it. I had turned on my rear defrost shortly before that. By the time I got where I was headed, almost my entire price of glass had fallen into ky car, in tiny pieces. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | My dad was driving his Honda and the rear window all of a sudden shattered without cause. My dad was so scared. This happened on 9/13/24 at 6pm. Already called Honda about this matter and hopefully I will get a call back with a good news. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | While driving on the highway, the rear windshield shattered with no warning. There was no lights, no sound, no crack, nothing that would indicate a problem. The car has been in use for 2 years with no problems. Once the car had been turned on, the rear defroster was turned on for about 3 minutes. Once the window was clear, it was turned off and about 10 minutes later, it shattered. No injuries but it was startling and could have caused additional accidents on the road, especially a highway that has such high traffic as this one. For once, it's a good thing that traffic was going so slow at 7am so there was more control to stop any potential collisions. It has been taken to the dealership for an inspection and to replace the window. They said that it has happened to several people, they have seen it at least 10 times in our area. I've always looked out for my car and take it to the dealership for oil changes or any recalls in a timely manner and never heard of this beforehand. Thankfully, no one else was in the car with me. But this should be more well known if it's such a common problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | - rear window scattered | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2024 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Back window blew out due to faulty defrost system. I had to have it replaced , took 2 weeks because there are no inventory of those windows. Cost me $500 plus rental car fees and time | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

The glass remained in tact while I continued to drive and then completely shatter when I opened my car door. It sounded like an explosion and it startled me. I called the dealer that sold me the car and he proceeded to tell me that this is a known issue specific to 2023 model of HR-V and manufacture error caused when the defroster it causes the glass to shatter. He added the issue can be fixed by simply replacing the window. I did not know this was an issue and it was not disclosed during the car purchase. I am so disappointed in Honda and even more disappointed to learn there is not an active recall to address this issue. Now there is glass all over my trunk space and I having to figure out how to get this fixed with the dealer. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2024 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Driving today a softball size hole appeared in the back glass (at trunk). There was no sign of a rock or anything else that went through the glass.
