| Date | Component | Summary | Severity | Mileage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dec 2023 | SEAT BELTS | The seat belt for the driver seat spontaneously unbuckles while the car is in motion. After fastening the buckle, the buckle disengages while driving, with no warning or provocation. This has happened 3 times on the driver seat and once on the 2nd row captain chair. The dealership has offered to inspect and replace all the buckles. The car has 10k miles and is 8 months old. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2023 | SEAT BELTS | The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while occupying the front passenger's seat and buckling the seat belt, the seat unbuckled independently. The contact stated that the failure had been recurring. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was unknown | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2023 | STEERING,WHEELS,SERVICE BRAKES | Car brakes try to lock when going over certain potholes or speed bumps and brakes seem faulty | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2023 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated while driving at approximately 4 MPH as he was turning onto a main road, the vehicle slid on a patch of ice and slid across the roadway. The contact stated he had crashed into the curb on the opposite side of the road with his front passenger side tire and came to a stop. The contact stated that there was no damage, however, the steering wheel was off-center at 45 degree to the left. The contact stated that he could steer the vehicle in a straight line, but the steering wheel was at a 45-degree angle, as if he was turning to the left. The contact stated that after the crash numerous warning lights were illuminated. The contact drove the vehicle to a local dealer who determined that the front passenger side tie rod was bent and that all of the collision sensors and the ABS module and the steering column sensor needed to be replaced. The contact was advised that the advanced collision sensors could not be reset. The right front passenger tie rod had been replaced. The vehicle had been partially repaired. The contact stated that the dealer could not determine why the sensors could not be reset. The vehicle sensor system had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 5,800. The VIN was unavailable. | Crash: Yes Fire: No | 5,800 |
| Dec 2023 | VISIBILITY | Driving on the interstate and sunroof just exploded. Sounded like a shotgun going off. Some glass entered the passenger compartment and went down the back of my sweater. Traffic was light and no other vehicle was close to me. Have only had the vehicle for 11 months and never have opened the sunroof. Dealer was unsure of warranty coverage. I do consider this a safety risk as the sound startled me. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Dec 2023 | VISIBILITY/WIPER | Recalls not being done! I am writing to complain about the inadequate and unsatisfactory service I received from the Temecula Hyundai service department on several occasions. The last one crossed the line and is a cause of concern; a huge safety and liability issue. On July 20, 2023 I brought my vehicle in for the driver wiper recall. I was told it was done and it reflected on my profile. After repeated incidents at this location I decided to get my vehicle serviced at a different location. On November 16, 2023, I dropped my vehicle off for the electric oil pump recall where they also suggested to address the windshield wiper. I told them that had been taken care of at the Temecula dealership but they proceeded to show me that while they logged the work in the system, the job was never completed; my palisade still has the old wiper part that was to be replaced. I wonder if this is standard practice at the Temecula shop? That’s extremely concerning as it poses a safety risk if recalls aren’t being properly addressed. I find what happened to be unacceptable and a huge safety and liability concern. I request from you to address this issue the best way possible. I hope that you will be able to find a satisfactory solution very fast. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2023 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | This happened several times: When I drive my 2023 Palisade with Speed Limit Assist engaged, the computer frequently out of the blue detects 25 or 30-mile speed limited signs that are not there and abruptly changes the speed down to 25 or 30 miles per hour. This has nearly caused two accidents as I was driving with 60 miles per hour and the Palisade suddenly slowed down to 30 miles per hour and drivers were only narrowly able to avoid hitting the rear of my car. This is dangerous and needs to be addressed before someone gets hurt or killed. I will report this one NHTSA and Consumer Reports. Please get back with me as soon as possible. I reported this to Hyundai as well. Case number: 22178478 | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | 1) Drivers seat moves while driving. 2) Seat positioning failure. Failure causes seat to move back increasing length from pedals. Made it harder to reach the gas and brake pedal. Unsafe to drive while seat in motion. 3) Problem was reproduced by dealer. 4) No warning or error messages prior to failure. 5) Dealership and Tech support unable to fix problem with multiple attempts. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES | My 2023 Hyundai Palisade has experienced loss of braking/power braking at least three times (two of which almost resulted in a collision). It is not within recall 23V415000. After the first failure, the service center did the recommended repairs (replace faulty brake booster) of that recall. The brakes failed again shortly after. The service center also confirmed they felt the brakes go soft when they were repairing it a second time. This time they replaced the brake master cylinder assembly, pin assembly, etc. The brakes failed another time after this. We took it back to the dealership, where it has been since. We have lost all faith in the brakes of this car, and this presents a major safety concern to Palisade drivers and those on the road. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Nov 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,VISIBILITY | We heard a very loud gunshot noise on 2023-10-20 while traveling on the I40 during a weekend road trip. We immediately got off the upcoming exit to inspect the tires for a blowout and other vehicle issues, however no issues were seen. No 18 wheelers or construction vehicles were near us at the time of the event. Later on we kept hearing a rattling sound that was baffling. The shattered moonroof was discovered when the shade was slightly cracked when inspecting the culprit of the rattling noise. I immediately closed the cracked moonroof shade and checked the top of the vehicle to discover a huge hole in the moonroof. Thankfully the sunshade protected us from the shattered glass and no one was hurt. The vehicle was taken to the dealership upon returning home on 2023-10-23 for an inspection and they observed it appeared that the moonroof blew out (up position). The dealership will be covering the replacement of the moonroof under warranty. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | This is the third occurrence since we bought the car new in August of '23. The car will lock all of its doors and we won't be able to get inside. Once we manage to get inside the dash will not display. We can not turn anything on except for the dome lights (which indicate the battery has power, thus not the problem). We have tried jump starting the car on our own with no luck. The first trip to the repair shop, the technician said it was a "multi-fuse" that needed replaced. The second time (after the exact same symptoms and failed home jump start attempts) the technician said that wasn't the case and that they didn't know what caused it. And that we would need to wait for it to happen again and hopefully they could catch it if something did happen.. Well, it happened again. Exact same symptoms. We have young children in car seats and we live in a cold climate. If it is 0 degrees out and it happened again and they were in the car it would be a terrible, fatal thing! We buy new to avoid problems and things like this. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | STEERING | The problem I am experiencing with my 2023 Hyundai Palisade is that the vehicle consistently drifts or steers towards the right side while driving. This occurs even when I attempt to keep the steering wheel straight and maintain a straight-line path on the road | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Cannot get either of 2 local Kerry dealerships to back with me to schedule an appointment for repair | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,SERVICE BRAKES,SUSPENSION | When applying the brakes if you hit a bump in the road the front end of the vehicle shakes violently and does not stop, lunges car forward | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | ENGINE | While driving, the engine suddenly turned off on its own showing a safety alert on dashboard "Engine is off. Shift to P or N." I had to pull the vehicle over with coasting for safety, stop the vehicle, and start the engine again. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | ENGINE | When starting the vehicle, the engine will not fully start, it will turn over as if it’s out of gas. Canceling the start process, then retrying usually results in a running engine. As of October 5’th, my vehicle is not currently you on the fuel pump recall, but this issues seems like a fuel pump issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES | ABS system engages on graveled inclines and potholes, overly sensitive. Cannot stop in time and had times where almost hit car in front. Took to dealership and they state no issues. ABS should not be this sensitive where it engages in normal everyday driving. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2023 | POWER TRAIN | Hyundai has 2023 and 2024 palisades recalled under 23V526. I have yet to be notified and am unable to get this recall fixed. My car is being destroyed by the sun because I refuse to park it in the garage. This car has been in the shop more than out and I'm sick of it. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | A few weeks ago, I made an appointment to address the recent safety recall concerning the transmission electric oil pump (campaign 246 / NHTSA recall number 23V-526.) For added clarity – the dealer identified the vehicle, saw that it was part of the recall and scheduled me for an appointment to correct this important safety matter. Today I took the day off from work and this morning I showed up for my appointment 30 minutes early. I surrendered my vehicle and sat at the waiting area. After spending over two hours at the service center, I was informed that they do not have the part(s) needed to complete this recall and that they have only today ordered it. Moreover, in talking to the advisor, he seemed perplexed at my disappointment, claiming that this is their standard operating procedure. Again, I would like to highlight the fact that I lost a day of work. I would now lose an additional day of work once the part(s) is/are in. Per Hyundai’s recall language, this is a serious and somewhat dangerous matter. Lastly, I would think that if the part is not in stock, the service center should have contacted me in advance to delay the appointment. Even if that was not done, it should not take over two hours to discover that the part is missing – a few seconds, yes. Hours NO. I am sorry for the tone – however, I am beyond disappointed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE | On three separate occasions while driving the car has shut off while driving. The car and dashboard completely shut off, as well as the radio. This is while driving! The car was in drive and then just shut off with no warning or indication. I've taken the car to be seen by a Hyundai Mechanic and the car had a starter replacement. Yet, the issue has continued. This has put my safety and the safety of others at risk as the car cuts off mid-traffic. I am no longer able to brake or accelerate. The check-ESC message comes up when attempting to restart, but there is no warning or indication that comes on before the vehicle completely shuts down. I feel extremely unsafe. The dealership says it is hard to see codes because this happens mid-drive. Multiple Hyundai Owners, specifically 2023 Palisade Model owners have posted and reported this issue to corporate. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2023 | POWER TRAIN | The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Palisade. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V526000 (Power Train) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Sep 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I have recently received a recall notice from Hyundai USA, stating that my 2023 Hyundai Palisade needs an immediate fix for transmission electric oil pump to avoid potential fire risk. It suggested that I should immediately reach out to the nearest dealer for a part replacement. However, I searched several dealer locations in WA and they do not have any availability within the next 60 days. The closest date I can see now available is at Dec. 11th., which is 3 months away. This is causing long-lasting concerns. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | I RECEIVED A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. AND IT SAID TO PARK MY CAR UNTIL I CAN GET IT SEEN ABOUT. I HAVE AN APPT UNTIL OCT 2. WILL MY VEHICLE BE SAFE TO DRIVE UNTIL THEN? | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
