| Sep 2023 | SERVICE BRAKES | My 2023 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy AWD engages the anti-lock braking system when I go over small bumps sometimes. It has happened at least twice in the last 24 hours and almost caused an accident because it resulted in a longer than expected braking time and distance. I have scheduled an appointment, but am unable to be seen for another two weeks so the dealer has not inspected it yet. There are no warnings, only shaking from the ABS and clearly reduced braking power. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Sep 2023 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | While driving my two young daughters to school this morning I heard a loud bang which resembled to that of a gunshot as I was driving on my own on the freeway at about 60 mph. I looked around and saw no nearby accidents or even vehicles within a 5 mile radius. Shortly after I could hear a lot of wind noise inside my vehicle, sure enough my panoramic sunroof imploded. This poses a huge safety concern as it had no impact and was of no fault my own. I hate to think about what would’ve happened had the door to the sunroof been open while it imploded, my children would have been greatly injured. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Sep 2023 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | My wife was merging on a freeway overpass and slammed her foot into the gas peddle for a few seconds to accelerate for the merging. Her speed of travel was around 75MPH when she put her foot into it. After reaching around 82MPH she released the gas peddle for the merger. The auto's RMP shot up to around 5K and maintained the high rpm for around 5-6 sec after she released the peddle. During these few seconds the car maintained the high rate of speed and the motor was very loud. My wife pumped the gas peddle twice in rapid succession and the RPM's the wend back down and the car returned to its normal operation. Questions from above: The component was the engine: A loud revving sound and indicated by the tac hitting 5K RPM after the the gas petal was released. This was the first indecent and if repeated, we will file another report. It has not been reported to or confirmed by any dealer or independent service center. The component has not been inspected. Due to this being the first occurrence the exact competent causing the issue would be unknown. There were not warning lamps, messages or other symptoms prior or post issue. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | 1. A. Dashboard digital display fades to black. Inability to see speed, meters, gauges, and malfunction graphics on the instrument cluster display. B. When phone charging through console USB port, the entire center console heats up excessively and smells like burning plastic; wiring. Stopped using center USB port to eliminate issue. C. When car put into Drive or Reverse from Park, loud clunking lurch occurs. When stopped at light and the stop idle engaged, the car lurches and makes loud clunking noise. Transmission seems to shift erratically. Turn the stop idle function off every time to avoid issue. 2. A. Dash display going black on highway is a huge safety risk not being able to see any important meters; gauges; warning graphics. The last time it occurred on the freeway going through Camp Pendleton and was frightening. It did come back on once I exited freeway. B. The console heating up was unsafe since it burned my hands to the touch. The sides and underneath area were all excessively heated and the burnt smell was an indication something electrically was malfunctioning. I stopped using the USB port on the console however, that does not eliminate the fact of some sort of electronic defect. C. There is something malfunctioning with the transmission shifting erratically and the stop idle defect. 3. Auto Nation Carlsbad Hyundai service could not duplicate issues driving locally or find any codes showing malfunctions. There is a recall that does not have a remedy that may be affecting the circuitry control system. I do not want to drive the vehicle and feel it's unsafe. 4. I have reported the issue to Hyundai Customer Care. There is a case on it. However, it's been two weeks with no response. Probably overwhelmed. They are very courteous and the General Manager at Carlsbad Hyundai dealer has been helpful providing a loaner. 5. No warning lights. Just fade to black. Increases on freeway after 45 min driving high speed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Aug 2023 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | First issue was engine misfire and loss of power while on the highway in the middle of no where. Car eventually died and was restarted. It happened twice at around 1700 miles on the odometer. Second issue is when the rear panoramic sunroof spontaneously exploded. I’m very thankful my daughter was not in the rear seat, as this happened while driving normal speeds. Sounded like gun shot. The sunroof spontaneously combusting seems to be a problem dating back to 2018 according to other reports online. Mine is a 2023. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2023 | STRUCTURE | At 40 mph+, the inside of the vehicle sounds like you are in a wind tunnel. The noise is so excessive that it gives you a headache at speeds over 50 mph. The excessive wind noise is coming from the driver’s side. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Aug 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Passenger door showing it is open at all times, makes an alert noise while driving. Also can not lock doors because of issue. | Aug 2023 | FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | On four separate occasions, the forward collision assist turned on when a car in front of my car has moved over into a turning lane and they slow down. The car aggressively brakes, and on two occasions has come to a complete stop in the middle of the road, not allowing me to move the car until the warning goes away. I was nearly rear ended on two occasions because of the cars sudden aggressive braking. I called the Dealer service number department and they told me they wouldn’t be able to diagnose the issue without trying to reproduce the issue which neither they nor I felt comfortable with. With the exception of the warning coming on during the event, there are no other warnings visible and the car returns to normal once it figures out there was no collision. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |

| Jul 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Car only has 1400 miles on it and is brand new. The engine for the car wont start when utilizing the push button within the car or app. The engine will only start by using the key fob. Initially we thought it was the battery, but after being able to turn the car on from the key fob, it was confirmed it was not the battery. Additionally, the car will randomly shut off when it is on. You can be driving the car and it will just shut off. The dealer service group upon initial drop off said they had never seen this before, but then they said it might relate to the push button and push transmission gears on the car, as they had seen this before on some of the newer hyundai models, just never the Palisade. They made it sound like the technology that is behind the push transmission and push button start is the same, and that is where the problem lies. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | I purchased my Hyndai Palisade on 06/14/2023 from Temecula Hyundai. We had the car for a week and then the car sat for three days. I went to get in it and found the battery was completely drained. Jump started the car and drove for two days. Going to leave my house and the battery was again drained. Took the car to the dealership and they said I had a bad battery. They replaced it. Took the car home. The following week we had the same issue, drained battery. Took the car back to the dealership. They had the car for two weeks and said a junction box was bad and causing a parasitic drain. They replaced the junction box and we got the car back. Drove the car for a week and went to Laughlin. The car was parked for two days and the car would not start. Completely drained battery. We got the car jump started and drove if for a bit. Parked it and the next morning the battery was again dead. Taking the car back to the dealership again for the third time for the same problem. We believe the car has an electrical defect somewhere causing this. The dealership has had the car more than we have and I have no confidence they will find the problem. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Jul 2023 | ENGINE | What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Amit- when i press gas pedal at initial pickup the car bumps hard 3-4 times then proceeds fine once it picks up speed. This happens after every few days and then stops for few days and again comes up. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Chances of rear collision as car bumps and does not pickup speed. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? It was not reproducible when i visited dealer but its added in notes of service. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No warning messages or lights on dash. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
