| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | While driving the car shut down. We had to come to a stop to put it in park to restart. Thankfully we were in a a parking lot after one incidence and once on a side road. We would be in a very dangerous situation if we had been on the highway. Our dealer service center said it might be a software update issue but they are not sure. These incidents did occur immediately after a software update. The check engine light did come on a stayed on after the shut down. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | I was slowing down for a stoplight vehicle shut off, came to an abrupt stop and shifted itself into Park. I then had to use the shifter knob to adjust it to Park to get the vehicle to turn on. This almost caused and rear end accident as I was not fully to the stop line area of for the light. The vehicle would then not go over 2500 RPMs and had to be limped off of the roadway. There were no warnings before this happened. All of it happened in a split second and my partner and I were jolted forward. I immediately reported this to the jeep dealership and they were very concerned about this. After this incident, my service engine light came on and stayed on later in the day it disappeared on its own without any clearing of any devices. I have attached pictures of what showed up as warning lights as soon as this incident happened. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | My car was stalling out every 30 second while I was driving. The dash would immediately tell me to put my car in park. Once I put my car in park, my car would lock up and not let me shift back into drive unless I turned the car off and back on again. This is extremely dangerous as my car just shuts down mid driving. The car is currently at the dealership being inspected and they have not fully confirmed what’s going on. The check engine light came on also the low tire pressure came on as well even though I did not have low tire pressure because it was showing my gauge in my gauge was normal. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | As I was driving the car on the highway, the engine light came on, then the "D" for drive gear started flashing and I could no longer accelerate or give the car gas. The only option was to "coast" across several lanes to the break down lane, put the car completely in park, shut off the ignition, and then restart the vehicle to drive again. This happened to me at least 7-8 times today (5 times while on the highway and a few while on other roads leading to and from the highway). I was unfortunately already on a drive to drop my children off somewhere so I had no choice but to complete the ride to the destination, then drive back home to park the vehicle. Needless to say, it's a very scary situation when you can no longer accelerate with cars coming up quickly behind you and you are unable to do anything but try to coast to a safe place to put the car in park and shut it off. It also happened to me while crossing an intersection and oncoming traffic from the other direction that then had a green light was swerving around me. I tried calling Jeep customer service to ask if it's a widespread issue and after 20 minutes on hold, the customer service rep came on to simply say their system is down and they're currently unable to assist anyone. I was almost in several accidents because of the issue and hope they send out a warning to all of those affected, assuming it was more than just my vehicle, because this seems to be occurring every since there was a mandatory software update yesterday. This happened at different speeds, in both electric and gas mode, and once while stopped at a red light, so there appears to be no consistent condition under which it occurs. It just unexpectedly happens and you need to pull somewhere safe with minimal control because of the lack of being able to accelerate (esp. if it occurs while you're on an upward slope because the ability to coast is almost nil). | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE | I am writing to report a critical safety issue involving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe following the most recent Uconnect system update. After installing the update, my vehicle completely shut off while driving on the highway, putting my entire family in immediate danger. This was not a minor malfunction—our lives were at risk. After researching online and communicating with other Jeep owners, I have learned that this Uconnect-related failure is affecting multiple 2024 4xe vehicles, indicating a widespread and serious defect that must be addressed immediately. I am demanding immediate contact from a senior executive or engineer to discuss this issue, next steps for resolution, and assurance that Jeep will take full responsibility for this safety hazard. If I do not receive a prompt response, I will be escalating this matter through legal channels and reporting it to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for investigation. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | Last night my Jeep Wrangler 4xe had a automated over the air software update come up on the screen. As normal i pressed update so the computers updated themselves. This morning I was approximately .5miles away from my house (first time driving since update), and I got multiple warning lights and errors on the dash. THE MOTOR THEN TURNED OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I pulled over, I was able to get the vehicle restarted and turned around. I made it about 1000feet from my house when the car TURNED OFF COMPLETLEY AGAIN. This time it would not restart. Luckily I was able to coast onto a side street off of a busy main road. I had to have the vehicle towed to a dealer. I later learned that Jeep pushed this update out and this same thing happened to THOUSANDS of 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Myself, my wife and my infant son could have been killed due to Jeep's negligence and carelessness, there is no way that a software update should be pushed out without it being tested and vetted. Oh and the dealers have no solutions or loaners so I am already out $300 for a 3-day rental. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | After accepting a prompted Uconnect over-the-air (OTA) software update, my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe began experiencing complete loss of motive power while driving. The vehicle suddenly lost acceleration capability and had to be restarted multiple times. I took the vehicle to McPeek’s Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Anaheim, CA, where technicians confirmed that multiple Wrangler 4xe vehicles had arrived the same day with the same failure following the same Uconnect update. The dealership performed a rollback to the previous software version, but the issue was not resolved. During the post-rollback road test, the technician confirmed that engine and propulsion issues persisted, and my service advisor advised that the vehicle was unsafe to drive. As a result, the Jeep was not released back to me and remains at the dealership pending further direction from Stellantis engineering. Diagnostic codes reported by other affected owners and visible in forums include U0293-00 (Lost communication with hybrid control module), U0010-00 (CAN bus communication failure), and P1E1D-00 (Hybrid control processor fault), which appear consistent with a communication breakdown between the Uconnect and hybrid powertrain systems. Jeep Customer Care has opened case #[XXX] for this incident and is coordinating with the dealer. This appears to be a safety-related defect, as the vehicle can unexpectedly lose power while in motion. | Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | While driving my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe (VIN: [XXX] ), the vehicle suddenly lost all motive power without warning. The accelerator pedal became completely unresponsive, the “D” indicator on the gear selector began blinking, and the vehicle coasted to a stop in traffic. It would not restart for several minutes. This has occurred multiple times since purchase. The most concerning incident happened earlier this year while driving on a freeway with my wife and two young children, the vehicle abruptly shut down in active lanes of traffic, forcing us to coast to the shoulder while cars passed at highway speed. On [XXX] the same failure occurred four times within a ten-minute drive home. Each time, the Wrangler became undriveable and required several minutes before it would restart. The vehicle is currently at Simi Valley Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram for inspection (Service Order #[XXX]). The service advisor stated that multiple Wrangler 4xe vehicles were brought in for the same issue that morning. They also stated that the Wrangler 4xe has faced this issue for years and were not surprised by my story. The defect appears related to the hybrid powertrain control system or high-voltage electrical components. The problem has been reproduced and reported to Stellantis Customer Care as a serious safety concern. No warning lamps or messages appeared before the loss of power, only the blinking “D” indicator afterward. The vehicle and affected components are available for inspection upon request. This defect poses a severe risk of crash or injury due to sudden, total power loss while driving. Dealership confirmed multiple similar 4xe vehicles with the same stalling issue that day. This appears to be part of an ongoing pattern consistent with NHTSA investigation RQ24012 for loss of motive power in Jeep Wrangler 4xe models. | Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL,UNKNOWN OR OTHER | While driving, a warning suddenly appeared stating “Electronic Stability Control Failure.” Immediately afterward, the vehicle stopped accelerating and automatically shifted from RUN to ACC mode with no throttle response or acceleration control. Traffic was moderate, and when the vehicle abruptly lost propulsion, several cars behind me had to brake hard and nearly collided with my vehicle. I was able to coast and pull off the roadway safely, but it was a dangerous situation that could easily have caused an accident. This failure occurred without warning, and the vehicle has a history of prior powertrain and driver-assistance system issues, including repeated “Four Wheel Drive Service” and “Electric Power Steering Fail” warnings earlier in 2025. The most recent event on October 11, 2025, was the most severe and created a serious safety hazard. Vehicle: 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Mileage: approximately 10,000 miles Condition: Leased, well maintained, all service performed at authorized Jeep dealership | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,EXTERIOR LIGHTING,ENGINE | Vehicle did over the air software update overnight. First drive the vehicle after approximately half a mile engine stalled out electronics went off. Vehicle lost communication with key would not restart. MIL light showing many codes on reader. Several power cycles vehicle run, but cut out further three times once on a freeway underpass. The hazard flashing lights would not work dead on key. Restarted it after five seconds limped to parking lot. Came back after shopping vehicle seems OK. Very dangerous issue complete loss of power. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER | Uconnect software update was pushed through and causing issues with drivability. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | The vehicle did an over the air update once we pulled into a restaurant. While driving home after the update the vehicle stopped in the middle of the road and had no power. The dash said to move the shifter to park and all the warning lights including the check engine light is on. We turned power off and back on and was able to go 1 mile home before it shut off In The driveway with all the same lights and no power. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE | Was driving on the highway and the check engine lights came on and a warning to shift to park. Shifted to park and restarted the vehicle to get myself out of the road and the check engine light remained on. From several posts on the Jeep 4xe Facebook group, looks like related to a recent over-the-air update which mine completed an hour before. The Jeep just died in the middle of the highway…. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ENGINE | OTS update today on 10-10-25 on my 2024 Jeep Wrangler 4XE caused my Jeep to stall/die about a mile from my house losing all engine/motor power and my Drive selector D to begin flashing. I had to put my Jeep in park in a busy intersection narrowly being hit several times by oncoming traffic. I had to put in park and shut the Jeep completely off, then back on and finally after reboot, could put in drive to safely get out of the intersection. My check engine light is now on and I have zero trust in my Jeep and know it is EXTREMELY dangerous to safely drive. When all traffic was gone, I made it home, but engine light is on, and radio display that shows icons are all missing, and screen is flashing and changing screen sizes. Jeep is not drivable. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | STEERING,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL | Jeep pushed out an OTA update for their Uconnect system. Upon completion of this update, that occurred while I was driving, I lost control of my vehicle. My steering wheel locked up, all of the lights on my dashboard started flashing, and I was instructed to pull the jeep over. I was unable to operate the vehicle and had to be towed. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | A software update was installed yesterday, and I almost died on a busy interstate when my vehicle shut down and would not restart. The jeep software update is causing THOUSANDS of vehicles to shut down. I literally had to wait hours for police to show up to clear the road so we could safely tow the vehicle. I come to home look on the Jeep forums and LOTS of people had the same issues. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Sudden loss of power every 2-5 minutes after the latest over the air software update. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE | A software update for the Uconnext system was pushed to the vehicle and accepted. Immediately after the car said the system was updated, the vehicle engine stopped completely, and the whole dashboard shut down. Restarted the car, but this repeated several times in a very short distance. The “D” was blinking in the transmission. It was barely possible to pull the vehicle over, as all power was lost. After some time stopped and waiting for a tow truck, driver pushed the factory reset button to reset the system. After factory reset, the car operated normally. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | This issue happens after an update on the car. Within 10 minutes after the car update the engine light came on and the car shut down on the road completely unable to drive . Without a warning, car stop to a complete shutdown while driving. My safety was at risk 5 times almost got into a car accident due to this issue where the car completely stopped while driving. Steering wheel completely locks when the car shuts down. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The vehicle did an over-the-air update to the vehicles software, u connect. The vehicle has since suffered two losses of propulsion while driving, with check engine light indicator illumination and a P1E1D code. This has been reported by numerous other 2024 4xe drivers. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | POWER TRAIN,ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Uconnect software update caused the car to stall and for CEL to turn on. While in D, got a message to shift to P to go back into drive. This is widespread across 2024 4xe vehicles and is a major, major hazard to drivers and drivers of other vehicles. If one of these goes dark on a highway, it could lead to serious injury or even death. Horrible. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | UNKNOWN OR OTHER,ENGINE,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | The latest Uconnect 5 update was performed by the Jeep dealership on my 2024 Wrangler 4xe on October 11th, 2024. After leaving the dealership, the vehicle shut off while driving and displayed a message instructing me to “shift to Park.” I lost propulsion and power steering, creating an immediate safety hazard. The dealership had just completed the update and told me it was safe to drive. Based on reports circulating among other 2024 Wrangler 4xe owners, this appears to be a widespread issue linked to the most recent Uconnect 5 update (released around October 10, 2025). Please investigate this issue as a potential safety defect related to the software update. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM | Completed the 'Uconnect' Update last night. This morning it drove for about 30 seconds before it completely shut down and the check engine light came on. Neither the electric, hybrid or gas engine would work. I was able to have it drift/coast to the left to park it. Turned it off and back on and it made it home. It was then towed to the dealership. My safety would be at risk if someone hadn't realized what was happening and had run into me. The vehicle has been taken to the shop, they won't diagnose it until Monday, but I did send them a video of the error. No warning lights prior to the car losing power. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ELECTRICAL SYSTEM,FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM | Software update sent to vehicle 10/10/2025. Allowed update as I was parked for afternoon. In the evening I attempted to drive for dinner. Vehicle suddenly lost propulsion, all warning lights came on, vehicle went to neutral, lost power steering, coasted to sudden stop and message stated shift to park and press start. Which I did. Same thing happened again in just a few feet in the middle of an intersection nearly causing an accident. Jeep is not answering their phones. Dealership is saying to have it towed. I want Stellantis to take this vehicle back. Too many issues. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
| Oct 2025 | ENGINE | Was driving on the freeway at 65 mph. Engine cut off completely and said to put it in park. No forward propulsion. This happened 2 times in a row. | Crash: No Fire: No | Unknown |
